Hours worked between: 9.30am - 5.30pm Monday - Friday pro rata

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Barnet Wellbeing Hub is an exciting new initiative that utilises a social prescribing model to support adults over 16 years old with common and long term conditions and/or social care needs to become involved in community activities. The Wellbeing Hub is an integral component of the overall Integrated Wellbeing Service Strategy for Barnet. A vacancy available for the right candidate to support the continued growth and development of the Social Prescribing offer in Barnet.

The hub acts as a referral Single Point of Access between statutory providers and community settings. A high volume of people are referred from statutory providers, other community organisations, or could self-refer to the hub. Staff will support individuals to engage with community activities.

The role of the wellbeing navigator team will be to provide a holistic service from referral through to discharge. They will work with partners to accept referrals into the service. They will welcome each person, provide a short triage to ensure that their conditions are appropriate ones for the service to assist, and then make appointments for them to visit for more in-depth assistance where necessary. They will also carry out background administration for this service such as logging individual details onto the service database.

MAIN TASKS

Individual Support

• Working with other team members, to provide first point of contact to all those accessing the service, whether face to face, by telephone or email.
• As part of a team, make contact to all people referred into the service.
• Provide a basic Triage service to people who are referred, either over the telephone or via appointments in the office.
• For those people with appropriate needs, book appointments for them to meet.
• Assist people to engage with community activities.
• Follow up with people who have used the service to ensure that they are engaging successfully.
• Provide a professional service that maintains boundaries, but is warm and respectful.
• Maintain individual confidentiality and respects equal rights and diversity.

Outreach work

Links with other community organisations and relationships with statutory services are integral to the success of the Wellbeing Hub. You will be working as part of the team to formulate an outreach work plan to support the Integrated Wellbeing Service working with our partners,

• Log all individuals accessing the service onto the central database in an accurate and timely fashion.
• Liaise with our partners and encourage collaborative and partnership working
• Build relationships and rapport with external partners
• Seek and generate referrals to the Wellbeing Hub and improve the community access into the Wellbeing Hub service
• Work flexibly at other premises, including GP practices, to deliver Emotional Health Checks to individuals based around the borough where appropriate

Administrative Duties

• Log all individuals accessing the service onto the central database in an accurate and timely fashion.
• Information logged should include people’s demographic information, presenting needs and any other case notes deemed to be appropriate.
• Log appointments for people to meet Wellbeing Navigators.
• Ensure that all paper or computerised records and documentation regarding the service is effectively and securely stored.

General duties

• To maintain accurate records to fulfil reporting requirements
• To adhere to all policies including equal opportunity policy and volunteer policy at all times
• Support the team in the setup and facilitation of events throughout the year and support the continued development of our activities
• Work with the team to support the recruitment and management of volunteers to create a team of hub champions to support the work of the navigators
• Attend and contribute to regular team meetings and supervision, as well as training sessions
• Carry out such other duties as deemed appropriate and may be reasonably required by the Service Manager.

JOB PURPOSE:

To work with young people to provide early intervention mental health support in group work and 121 settings. To develop key partnerships with local agencies to create a support network for young adults aged 18yrs –25yrs.

Job Purpose

This role sits within our new mental health Prevention Hub - which is a drop-in service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed, seeking support and advice for their mental health, there and then. This service is a 9 month pilot project and will initially operate 11am-7pm Monday-Friday, however there may be a need to cover weekends/late nights, depending on the need of our clients and service growth. 

Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis to individuals experiencing mental health distress. This will consist of 1:1 support; de-escalating and providing interventions, signposting for specialised or longer-term support, and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing. The aim of this service is to de-escalate, and provide holistic wellbeing plans. 

The objectives of the service include:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health distress, in Spelthorne
• To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation, planned wellbeing activities etc. 
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
• To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
• To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
• To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis.
• To reduce the use of statutory crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.

The Role

The role of the Prevention Hub Coordinator will be to support the rest of the team in delivering interventions on a one-to-one and group basis. The role will also involve triaging and assessing all clients accessing the service, signposting and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing. The successful candidate will share Generate’s vision of working together with people with a learning disability, autism, neurodiverse and other disabilities to build better lives and connect to communities as equal citizens.

Responsibilities and duties include:

• To recruit and support Generate members to participate in the speaking up forum known as Generate Voices
• To plan and arrange weekly 1 and a half hour meetings of the forum (Online via Zoom and face-to-face at Generate’s building)
• To plan each forum by creating an agenda, all supporting papers and presentations in accessible formats.
• To engage forum members in planning future agendas and deciding what other speakers and trainers to invite to the forum.
• Develop and implement a plan to increase the understanding of forum members on the governance of the organisation and make the Board of Trustee meetings more accessible so that a person with lived experience can join the board.
• Work closely with the Wandsworth Learning Disability Partnership Board and ensure Generate Voices members are supported to attend and participate in activities related to this forum.

The BNSSG Mental Health Alliance is a network of over 20 Voluntary, Community and 
Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations based across the Bristol, North Somerset and South 
Glos (BNSSG) regions, working collaboratively to deliver a range of psychological 
interventions for our communities. Commissioned by the Integrated Care Board (ICB) to 
work alongside the statutory sector, our aim is to offer holistic and inclusive support for 
people experiencing a range of challenges to their mental health including depression, 
anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, perinatal mental health. As part of this, the VCSE Mental 
Health Alliance recently received funding from the ICB to undertake a review of 
psychological therapies within BNSSG, seeking to better align the VCSE and statutory 
services in keeping with the new Community Mental Health Framework. 
We are now seeking to recruit two part-time Project Coordinators to help us develop this 
project over the next 10 months.

About the Project
There is a lack of accessible psychological therapy provision across Bristol, North Somerset, 
and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) leading to gaps in service, some people not accessing 
services or waiting a long time to be seen. This is particularly true for people who have 
‘complex’ trauma presentations, experience multiple barriers to accessing services and/ or
require evidenced based and trauma informed interventions to address their needs.
Much of the therapy that people access in Primary Care outside of NHS Talking Therapies 
and Secondary Care, is provided in the Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE)
sector, by specialist charitable organisations. This therapy is unevenly distributed across the 
six localities in BNSSG.

Womankind completed Phase 1 with a comprehensive report on VCSE talking therapies 
provision, (January 2024). 
Bristol Mind and Womankind are members of the VCSE Mental Health Alliance and are 
leading on Phase 2 of the project.

Job purpose and responsibilities
To reach and represent our diverse membership, we are recruiting two part-time Project 
Coordinator posts who will work collaboratively to plan and deliver activities. Project 
Coordinators will be managed separately by our organisations. 
The Project Coordinator(s) will be responsible for the successful delivery of Phase 2 of the 
project and will work in collaboration with key stakeholders to support the re-design of a new, 
integrated model of care that will optimise psychological therapies provision for the people of 
BNSSG. 

Role Description
1. To work in collaboration with key stakeholders.
2. To collate referral and signposting data between statutory & VCSE Psychological 
Therapies services, tracking service-user journeys and gaps in provision.
3. To undertake targeted ‘deep dive’ consultations with evidence-based VCSE 
Psychological Therapies providers (121 and group), drawing out information on 
numbers/ sessions, waiting lists/times, geography, presenting issues, equity-based 
offers, service and clinical outcomes.
4. To work closely with Lived Experience groups to identify key system blocks and 
solutions relating to referral pathways, waiting times, choice/ flexibility, co-design and 
service-user voice.
5. To support the design of a new integrated model, working closely with the VCSE MH 
Alliance and wider Evidence-Based Practice Steering Group in order to agree key 
elements.
6. To support the design and delivery of a ‘test & learn’ approach to piloting the model, 
working closely with lived experience volunteers and an external research consultant.
7. To contribute to a final report designed to recommend best practice, promote interagency training, and support joined-up mental health provision across BNSSG.

The logistics and communications officer role is to support the whole staff team, volunteers and the stakeholders of Let’s Grow Preston. We are looking for a flexible, competent and creative person to join our dynamic team. The role is predominantly administrative, but there will be days when the role will require you to collect food for distribution, load and unload the van with trolleys and plants for an event, or just to drop off at another community hub.

A full clean driving licence is essential to enable the post holder to drive the charity’s van.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To assist and communicate with the support of Let's Grow Preston's existing network of community groups across the PR postcode area and support regular network meetings.
2. To assist and communicate with the support of Let's Grow Preston's existing network of contacts within the charity, public and private sectors; including local schools.
3. To support the work of the staff to ensure that all communications are delivered in a professional and friendly style.
4. To ensure that all volunteers have access to and understand the volunteer handbook and that any amendments in policy are alerted to the volunteers and staff in a timely fashion.
5. To oversee the calendars of Let’s Grow Preston, to help to coordinate the volunteering sessions and the van to ensure that there are appropriate staff to cover volunteering sessions and that there are adequate resources such as the van, gazebos are available, drivers forms completed and filed etc.
6. To assist the Chief Executive and staff to establish robust methods of evaluating the work of Lets Grow Preston against project indicators.
7. To deliver and co-ordinate workshops, evaluation and feedback, reviewing activity and making recommendations for revised activity, or new opportunities.
8. To promote the work of Lets Grow Preston and support, coordinate and communicate on the delivery of key events in the organisations calendar e.g. Spring Fair, Christmas Fair etc.

Working in partnership across Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust, you will support the testing of new and integrated models of primary and community mental health care.

Community Connectors will support patients to access a wide range of community services and resources including social care, housing, family, debt and employment counselling that support maintaining good health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work jointly with the Mental Health Practitioner in conducting assessments, including risk assessment
• Work with patients to support them in identifying their socially determined needs and goals, provide self- management tools and facilitate the development of personal support plans
• Provide a range of motivational and structured psycho-social interventions
• Promote independence through an enabling asset-based approach that draws on individuals’ strengths, preferences and ‘natural’ support networks
• Assist with community resource mapping exercises and maintain a database of community resources; map where there are gaps in provision across the PCN and wider geography and work with other VCS organisations to develop resources where most needed
• Promote and support (where necessary) advised follow up actions from physical health checks for people with SMI
• Work with the service to identify opportunities to expand provision particularly in local communities where there is a lack of service provision identified
• Broker and establish new partnerships between public and voluntary sector agencies to enhance service delivery and access to services
• Develop and sustain professional relationships with service users, partner agencies and appropriate external agencies

We are the UK’s student mental health charity. We challenge the higher education sector, health sector, and government to work with students when making decisions that impact them, and make them accountable for prioritising student mental health. In collaboration with students, we show sector professionals what effective student mental health looks like, and bridge the gap between students and the communities around them to ensure their voices are always heard.

ROLE PURPOSE
The Programme Liaison Officer (full-time, fixed-term contract for 18 months, with possibility to extend) will join the expanding Sector Improvement Team. They will provide vital administration, communication and digital liaison and support required to successfully run and deliver the University Mental Health Charter Programme and Award, achieve the Sector Improvement Team’s key objectives, and contribute to the whole charity’s mission and goals.  This is an exciting opportunity to help the team scale the University Mental Health Charter, with the potential to impact 2.5 million staff and students across the UK.

This role will include responding to queries, liaising with assessors, universities and general enquiries. The post holder will be responsible for working with the team to develop and monitor our HUB and digital platforms, for developing regular newsletters and working with colleagues to liaise with the many stakeholders involved in the assessment and programme processes.

Key responsibilities 

Liaison support

• Provide effective liaison and administrative support to the Sector Improvement Programme(s), working closely with the Sector Improvement Lead and Programme Managers to ensure thesuccessful delivery of the programmes
• Support the planning and delivery of key Sector Improvement Programme activities such as the Winter Panel and the recruitment of the Award Assessors, CPD training and responding togeneral enquiries
• Act as the first point of contact for key stakeholders’ inquiries through the Charter Inbox and Student Minds’ Hub

Digital and resources support

• Utilise project management tools to manage work, deadlines and workflows alongside relevant colleagues to ensure timely and quality programme delivery
• Support the development of resources and documents for the charter, including newsletters, HUB announcements, Charter Handbook etc.
• Work closely with the Comms and Digital Team internally to develop and communicate clear timelines and resources needed throughout the year
• Support the annual onboarding of the Charter Programme, supporting the administrative tasks for the process, including some financial support. Lead on bringing together and distributing key documents such as welcome packs, Charter Framework documents etc.
• Support the coordinator (Programme and HUB) to onboard universities and Assessors to the HUB, and develop and grow the platform for members
• Update and oversee the Sector Improvement annual calendar of events and key activities/deliverables and share with the wider Student Minds team, identifying where dates may need to be moved
• Actively participate in the testing and embedding of new digital systems being led by the Digital
• Product Manager to increase efficiency and engagement for the Sector Improvement Programme and organisation as a whole for example collating product requirements

Financial support

• Work with the Programme Support Officer and finance colleagues to ensure correct processes and procedures are followed accurately and compliant with finance requirements
• Act as a secondary card holder for the team, making online purchases such as accommodation and travel bookings and following policies, procedures and guidance in the correct and responsible use of the Student Minds card

Data and process administration

• Administer data princesses for the University Mental Health Charter Programme and Award process, in line with Data Protection Guidelines
• Collate evaluation data from Sector Improvement events (online and in person)
• Create essential documents requested by the Sector Improvement Programme team, to support programme delivery and scalability
• Use our database(s) to manage relationships and communications with programme participants and key stakeholders, ensuring it is always up-to-date
• Support the Sector Improvement Team and Award Managers to enable efficient Award
• Assessment accreditation processes
• Maintain key working relationships with our network of Assessors and University Award Leads, addressing queries, scheduling and minuting award panels, sharing actions with the team

Working together

• Work closely with the Programme Support Officer to successfully deliver all aspects of the role, including managing the relationships with universities and logistical aspects (e.g. bookings, finances), ensuring tasks are picked between roles and when required
• Work closely with colleagues in the Student Space team and Training teams to embed cross- programme working within Student Minds.
• Attend various programme-related meetings, actively contributing ideas to continually develop our Programmes
• Stay updated on developments in Higher Education and gather insights from sector partners to feed into team decisions
• Look for opportunities to develop systems and processes to improve ways of working and participate in discussions on the Sector Improvement Team development and improvement

In this job, you will play a vital role in driving up awareness of the Mental Health Charter with businesses, organisations, and service providers across the borough of Barnet.

To begin with, you’ll use your organisational and project management skills to work with the steering group to create an action plan. With their support, you’ll use your operational communications experience to work with all partners to develop and create presentations and other promotional materials, such as flyers and posters. You will also take photos at engagement activities for partners to promote the project on their respective social media platforms.

Then, using your excellent interpersonal skills you will build on existing relationships with key stakeholders and create new ones. Travelling around the borough of Barnet you will proactively approach, encourage and support a diverse audience of businesses, organisations, and service providers to make pledges to the charter and later follow up on their progress.

On a day to day basis, you will record activities against key performance indicators, accurately record and analyse feedback using surveys and data management tools.

Additionally, you will organise and attend monthly Steering Group meetings following key project management principles to report on the overall progress of the project against targets.
