18 million people die each year due to lack of access to safe, timely and affordable healthcare. In response to this global health crisis, the Africa Mercy hospital ship brings free and safe surgery to people in Africa. 

Mercy Ships works together with host nations to strengthen the healthcare systems via training and infrastructure projects.  Mercy Ships is preparing to double their impact by launching a second ship, the Global Mercy.

We are looking for an inspiring and committed Philanthropy Manager, Major Gifts to develop and deliver a major donor cultivation strategy for high value individual donors. A strategic priority is the fundraising campaign to support the launch of a second ship, the ‘Global Mercy’.

You will actively oversee and manage a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals and create complex and carefully crafted funding propositions, reports and communications for those key supporters.

You will also deliver exceptional and consistent cultivation and stewardship for all major donors and prospects as well as develop strong collaborative relationships with colleagues in the UK and the international offices.

The Executive Leadership Team, the recently appointed Executive Director and the Board of Trustees will work with you to achieve value added relationships for the organisation’s growth.
