As the Graphic Designer, your role is to help produce creative and engaging digital and print content. Mercy UK is a content-rich organization, with a loyal supporter base and a strong brand. This is an exciting position with lots of scope to identify new opportunities, propose creative ideas and be involved in all aspects of delivering on those concepts. 

Working alongside our Digital Communications Coordinator and Supporter Engagement Coordinator, you are part of the team that develop and deliver our exciting communication and fundraising initiatives to grow our supporter base and invite more people to be a part of our critical work.

You are a creative and adaptable designer who enjoys challenges and likes working as part of a small but dynamic team. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about helping people to understand, access and support our life-transforming work through telling stories, creating inspiring content and finding new audiences.

 

 

Job Description

The post will include but is not limited to: 

  • Coordinating the development and guardianship of Mercy UK's visual brand identity.

  • Developing our brand to ensure we are reaching our growing and diversifying demographic.

  • Be responsible for the full creative process; from creating an initial brief, liaising with stakeholders, managing expectations, creating realistic timescales through to creating concepts and delivering creative digital and print solutions.

  • Producing a range of print design including leaflets, banners, reports, book covers, merchandise and resources.

  • Preparing InDesign files for print and liaise with printers to produce high-quality products and promotional material.

  • Using illustration, typography and photography to make our resources and communications exciting, engaging and accessible.

  • Interpreting our ongoing data and statistics to produce creative and visually engaging infographics that help simplify complex information.

  • Helping grow our online social media following by producing high-quality visual and written content.

  • Ensuring a robust and comprehensive image bank, including sourcing good quality stock imagery, commission photography and, ideally, take good quality photos and videos at events.

  • Supporting our online shop with new merchandise, print and digital offerings.

  • Supporting our Digital Communications Coordinator with written content and help source new opportunities to share our knowledge on internal and external platforms.

  • Contributing your skills and ideas as part of a team producing engaging and creative fundraising campaigns.

  • Supporting our Church Partnership team with high-quality presentations and training material as they develop and deliver our growing training programmes.

  • Presenting the vision and mission of Mercy UK to Christian audiences of all denominations and backgrounds as well as bringing an example of healthy Christian leadership in line with Mercy UK’s statement of faith and lifestyle policies. 

  • Remaining discerning, innovative and open to change, offering your skills and support across the charity, as needed.

  • Undertake continued training, be an active participant and show commitment to personal and spiritual development.

  • Adhere to ethical practice, strict confidentiality, disclosure and safeguarding policies and use discretion at all times.
