As the People Strategy Manager, you are an enthusiastic and motivated member of a senior management team, working at your creative best towards building a charity culture and structure in which teams can thrive.  You have an eye for detail and the stomach for change and your professionalism and approachability underpins the effective development and ethical implementation of our People Strategy plans.  Your passion for people, along with your experience and insight into HR, makes you a key player in creating an outstanding employee experience.

 

The post will include but is not limited to:

 

  • Working innovatively under the direction of the Director of People and Support to implement Mercy UK’s People Strategy; helping achieve our objectives of embedding a culture of training and development for staff, identifying new staff benefits and administering our HR, payroll and pension processes.

 

  • Writing and reviewing our people-related policies, infusing them with ‘the Mercy voice’ and current brand guidelines and ensuring easy access for all our employees

 

  • Involvement in senior-level operations meetings; bringing updates and recommendations on all matters pertaining to the employment life cycle and meeting regularly with the Director of People and Support for supervision, critical reflection and collaborative working

 

  • Contributing to the management and analysis of our income and expenditure in relation to our People Strategy and contributing to the financial forecasting, planning and monitoring of costs

 

  • Monitoring and analysing key metrics and strategic enquiry relating to employee engagement and experience and producing reports to demonstrate results, key learnings and recommendations.
     

  • Willingness to lead as an example of healthy Christian leadership by positively influencing healthy interpersonal dynamics and equipping and empowering managers to effectively, efficiently and ethically lead their teams.

 

  • Bringing support, direction and opportunities of growth and learning in your management of the HR Administrator and together, delivering HR services to the highest possible standards

 

  • Remaining discerning, innovative and open to change, offering your skills and support across the charity as needed.

 

  • Adhere to data protection, ethical practice, strict confidentiality, disclosure and safeguarding policies and use discretion at all times.
