Mermaids is currently growing its newly consolidated communications and fundraising team and we require a full-time PR and Fundraising Campaigns Officer to help us curate year-round campaigns. It will be your job to engage directly with current service users, influencers, supporters, and all potential social media contacts with a view to translating our ethos of positivity and support to the online community, while planning and overseeing strategic campaigns. As one of the charity’s visible ‘voices’, you will also be expected to appear in broadcasts and traditional media as a visible spokesperson for Mermaids. You will also assist the Communications Director in the day to day running of the strategic communications and PR team.
The ideal candidate will be ambitious, have impeccable writing skills and be an excellent and confident communicator in private and public situations. They will benefit from a sensitive understanding of transgender issues and have experience in using analytics to identify key messaging and build effective campaigns. They will have an industrious work ethic and the ability to react quickly and professionally under pressure.
