Merstham Community Facility Trust (MCFT) was started by a small group of local people who wanted to make their community a safer, happier, and better place. Fourteen years later it has grown to become an organisation that delivers a multitude of projects that support, connect, and empower the community.
MCFT seeks to provide opportunity, access, and services to all within our local community, in responsive and inclusive ways.
MCFT is based at The Merstham Hub a great purpose-built community building that we share with the Council’s Library, the Merstham Mix (a community café) and the YMCA. MCFT is a place that thrives on community spirit and has a team of warm, , friendly and dedicated staff and volunteers.
We have a wide range of activities and services and enable a wide range of other organisations and people to bring their services to the community. This includes our Community Fridge, a Food Club, a Community Allotment, Repair Café, IT Buddies, and even a Trishaw!
The post holder will be required to build strong relationships with volunteers and coordinate training and other developmental opportunities for them. You will provide a single point of entry to volunteering at the Merstham Community Hub (the Hub), exploring and developing different recruitment methods and partnership working strategies to bring in a diverse group of volunteers. The role will also involve using a newly implemented volunteer management database.
We are looking for someone who is organised, kind and compassionate to play a key role in the development and impact of MCFT with and for its volunteers and the local community.
Applicants must have prior experience in recruiting, managing, and/or working with volunteers.
