My name is Toni Fielding and I work for a charity based organisation called MHA. My role, is the Live at Home Scheme Manager for the Enfield borough, where I work to produce activities and befriending opportunities to the older community. MHA Enfield’s overall aim, is to reduce loneliness and isolation for the older community.
Live at Home Enfield is relatively new, but is well established across the country, with our biggest scheme having 1000 active members a month. At the moment, I have 2 activities a week with the 3rd starting in September. On Tuesday afternoon at Grange Park Methodist Church between 1-3pm we have a variety of activities which change week to week, such as seated exercise classes, crafternoon teas, live music, local history talks, flower arranging and much more. If you feel you have any skills that you could bring to the groups, then please get in touch! Or even if you want to come along and do some general volunteering - any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
We have also started a weekly exercise class at Bush Hill Park Methodist Church every Friday between 12-2pm. Again, we are keen to get some front of house volunteers who can help with the day to day running of the activity and make the members feel welcome and comfortable.
From the 12th of September we will be running another social group at Trinity Church in Enfield Town. For this group we have a crafternoon tea, board games and live music lined up for the first few weeks but the feedback from the people who attend will help mould it into whatever they want it to be.
If this sounds like something you'd like to be involved in then please don't hesitate to get in touch. Please feel free to email or call me for further information.
