About Our Client
The British Cardiovascular Society (BCS) is a membership organisation with charitable status. It is the voice for those working in cardiovascular health, science and disease management in the UK. Its aim is to promote and support both the healthcare professionals who work in cardiology and the patients for whom best possible treatment is to be encouraged. Our members are healthcare professionals, working in the field of cardiovascular health.
We work in partnership with a large number of Affiliated Societies and for a number of these provides administrative, digital and membership services including payment collections.
This post is offered at a time of transformational change in the BCS across a range of core functions to ensure we continue to meet the needs and expectations of our members remain financially sustainable as a business going forward. The post holder will therefore have a real opportunity to contribute and help shape these changes and services across the range of our existing and potential business activities. Initiative and enthusiasm to make a difference are therefore a must.
The Finance Director is responsible for providing leadership to the BCS's finance and accounting strategy and functions. They are responsible for coordinating corporate finance and managing and developing BCS company policies. They will have overall responsibility for both financial and management accounts, including financial reporting systems and will take a fundamental role in the organisation's change management programme.
The post holder is supported by a full time finance officer and will work closely with the CEO and VP Corporate Finance and Development as well as the BCS Finance Committee to develop and implement the BCS Finance and Business strategy
The Successful Applicant
The post holder will be an experienced FD with strategic vision and considerable experience at a senior leadership level. As well as having technical financial expertise, we also require the post holder to have excellent leadership and management skills; strong team working and interpersonal skills; first-rate communication skills; experience of organisational change management; and an ability to build strong service relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role and be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
What's on Offer
Part time role - Salary £70,000 pro-rata equivalent (3 days a week preferred)
