This is a niche and exciting role within one of the largest charitable organisations in the UK. We are looking for a candidate who has a strong background in single-handedly creating & implementing volunteer strategy plans within large scale charities. This is not a role that involves management of volunteers.
It's imperative this candidate can come in and hit the ground running and is an expert in this field. Must be able to start April 1st.
Our client is a charitable organisation that is intertwined in a network of over 300 charities. Their purpose is to advice people and help with challenging issues.
? Lead the development (creation and hands on implementation) of the Volunteering Strategy.
? Identify future resource requirements to ensure delivery of the volunteering strategy
? Ensure that the development offer for volunteers is fit for purpose and cost effective.
? Maintain oversight of all volunteer related activity across the service to ensure alignment with the volunteering strategy.
? Provide strategic and political leadership to colleagues across the charity in relation to volunteer management and engagement.
? Provide expert insight and advice to the Executive Team and other senior stakeholders in relation to volunteer recruitment, engagement, management and development.
The Successful Candidate will have the following:
? Substantial experience and understanding of strategic volunteer management and development and leading volunteering through others
? Knowledge and experience with current volunteering issues within the third sector and how they relate to an organisation of the scope and scale of this Charity.
? Knowledge and understanding of volunteering best practice, policy and innovation.
? Experience of leading a function and contributing effectively to a wider senior leadership team; able to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to identify initiatives, guidance and/or tools to support a consistent approach to volunteering.
? Proven experience of developing and implementing strategies/ programmes of work to achieve organisational objectives
? It is imperative that the successful candidate has experience with projects such as this one for large charities. This is not a volunteer management role nor a role; this is the creation of the volunteering strategy and the successful candidate will be covering the developing and implementing this.
