Job description

Our In-House Maintenance Team has a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual to join us as a Surveyor in our Special Projects/Disrepair team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing safe homes for our tenants and has strong understanding of legislation relating to disrepair.

The Role

In this role you will be required to undertake surveys relating to disrepair works and write up your findings in a Scott Schedule. You will help manage the disrepair and complex complaints caseload, provide technical reports and legal statements, refute opposing opinion and deliver excellent results for our tenants and the organisation.

An essential part of the role is working hard to ensure that our properties remain places that our tenants are proud to call home, by leading and motivating a team to repair and maintain them as seamlessly as possible. You will frequently inspect works to ensure they are carried out to a high-standard.

Always with the customer in mind, you’ll work with colleagues across our organisation to ensure a first-class responsive repairs service that is contractually compliant, timely, cost effective and safe – always striving to continuously improve our service to ensure high customer satisfaction.

Our ideal candidate? You'll hold a relevant qualification in a Building related discipline and have previous disrepair surveying experience. You'll also have an excellent understanding of CDM regulations as well as previous experience undertaking surveys and producing detailed, expert reports. You'll also have experience of inspecting properties and a good understanding of defects falling under relevant legislation such as, but not limited to, Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, the Environmental Protection Act 1990, and the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018.
