Croydon, Greater London (On-site)
£26,491 per year
Contract, Fixed Term until 31 March 2023, Full-time
Job description

The Croydon Health and Wellbeing Space Support Workers will provide advice, information, support and representation to Croydon residents who are referred to the Space through the local Integrated Care Network Plus multi-disciplinary clinical and community mental health support teams (MDTs) based in the local Mental Health and Wellbeing Spaces in North, Central/East Croydon and/or South Croydon.

In addition to casework, the role will be expected to assist with reception and initial referrals in the Space when required and will also support Space volunteers. The Health and Wellbeing Space team will ensure that support is person-centred; focussed on supporting recovery; that needs, and wishes are identified by people themselves; that they have a stronger voice in relation to issues that affect their lives; and that they are supported and empowered to improve and/or maintain their mental health and wellbeing and to live their best independent lives.

The multi-disciplinary team during the initial one-year test period will inform the development and growth of the Health and Wellbeing Space to meet local needs and to ensure that it can support community-based mental health and wellbeing across the whole population and in all 6 Integrated Care Network Plus localities by 2023.

The role is an integral part of the ICN+ which brings together clinical and community-based support and services in co-located teams based in the Health and Wellbeing Spaces.  If you have experience of working directly with people to support their mental health, are resilient, and enjoy working in partnerships in local communities, we’ll look forward to hearing from you.

The Health and Wellbeing Spaces in Croydon are provided and managed through a partnership between Mind in Croydon and the Croydon BME Forum to deliver on an innovative new project. During the period of 1 March 2022 – 31 March 2023 all staff working in the Croydon Health and Wellbeing Space who are employed by Croydon BME Forum have been temporary seconded to Mind in Croydon until 31 March 2023.

Mind in Croydon and Croydon’s BME Forum is an equal opportunities employer.
