Job description

We have a new opportunity for a Digital Products Officer with professional experience of managing content management systems (Drupal, WordPress or similar), working with digital agencies, optimising digital content using Search Engine Optimisation best practice, using accessibility tools and principles, and writing for the web.

As part of the Digital Products Team, you will support the Digital Products Manager with our digital portfolio of products and services to support those living with and affected by MND. You'll support colleagues across the organisation to deliver the best experiences possible for our audiences across all digital products.

Our digital products include our website, microsites, online shop, forum as well as third party platforms. You will support with the hosting, management, and compliance, and help improve user experience, journeys and engagement using data and usability testing.

You will have the opportunity to see and support new enhancements and developments through the agency briefing stage, right up to delivery onto our website. You will ensure training materials are updated or created and deliver online or face-to-face training sessions, as required, to ensure our content editors are comfortable using any new features. If you have the digital knowledge and experience, we can support you to deliver effective training for our editors.

This role will also involve supporting an ongoing programme of digital inclusion, ensuring our digital products and content meet WCAG 2.1. AA accessibility standards.

What are we looking for?

Professional experience of developing and publishing engaging digital content using a CMS (content management system) such as Drupal, WordPress or similar.

Experience of optimising website content with consideration of SEO and digital best practices. As well as knowledge of digital accessibility tools and principles to ensure our website content is accessible for everyone.

Experience in writing for the web or digital channels. Excellent copywriting, editorial and proofreading skills, and the ability to translate complex information into clear and accessible content tailored to a variety of audiences.

You should have excellent communication skills and attention to detail. with great time management, prioritisation, and organisational skills to manage a busy workload.

Experience of training people to use digital tools is advantageous. However, the Association can support the successful candidate with this skill set.
