Community & Events Fundraiser

Salary up to £28,000 per annum

37.5 hours per week to be worked flexibly in accordance with the needs of the role which may include weekends, bank holidays and evenings to support events

About the role:

Responsible for managing and supporting a small team to plan, deliver, grow and review Countess Mountbatten Hospice’s community & events programme, meeting agreed financial income target and expenditure budgets to increase sustainable income for the charity.

The post holder will be responsible for developing productive and lasting relationships, inspiring and motivating supporters and stakeholders, both new and existing, to engage and fundraise for us, and providing excellent supporter care.


Working with individual fundraisers as well as organising large mass participation events the post holder will lead on developing, managing and promoting fundraising events across all aspects of Mountbatten's fundraising activities.

About you:

We are seeking a highly motivated, engaging and enthusiastic experienced Community & Events Fundraiser who has excellent knowledge of working with supporters and volunteers and managing events to achieve annual income targets from within the community. The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate:

  • Success in developing and building community income streams
  • Experience of delivering successful events
  • Ability to manage multiple projects to deadlines
  • Excellent financial and budget management experience
  • Experience of fundraising in the charitable sector or equivalent experience in another sector
  • Ability to build strong relationships and be able to manage and inspire volunteers
  • Be able to work on your own as well as part of a team
  • Highly competent in IT, including Word, Excel, Outlook, email and the internet
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

The postholder will need to be a flexible and adaptable individual with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure to tight deadlines. You will be ambitious, innovative and tenacious, and will thrive on new challenges and enjoy inspiring and motivating others.
