Job Description

Internally known as Changing Places Project Officer, this is an exciting opportunity, for a fixed term of 2 years, to work on the campaign for fully accessible Changing Places toilets. This role is focused on coordinating a £2 million funding project alongside the Department for Transport to increase Changing Places toilet provision at Motorway Service Areas across England.

   

Applicants

The successful applicant should have experience of administering grants or funding as well as a passion for improving accessibility and promoting independent living for people with disabilities. The role will involve travelling to motorway service stations during the project so having a driving license is essential.

   

Expectation in the role

  • Coordinating and delivering a £2 million funding competition.
  • Working collaboratively with key stakeholders including the Department for Transport and Motorway service station providers.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the progress of the funding project.
  • Writing detailed project reports for internal and external audiences.

The Changing Places campaign fights for more fully accessible Changing Places toilets that provide a bench and hoist. These toilets are crucial for over ¼ million people across the UK to be able to access their community.

Location

This role is based at our office in Southwark, London. It is within a short walking distance of Southwark and Borough Tube stations. It is also a short distance from Waterloo Station, London Bridge Station and Blackfriars Station. We are also a 5 minute walk from the Tate Modern and Southbank, perfect place to go for lunch during the warm summer months.
