Hours of Work:

Full-time, 35 hours per week

Salary guideline:

(Up to) £30,000.00 per annum (commensurate with experience)

Terms of Employment:

6-Months’ Fixed-Term Contract (with a 3-Months’ Probationary Period)

Muslim Hands is a UK based international relief organisation working in over 40 countries worldwide. The Head Office in Nottingham and a fundraising team in Whitechapel London; occasional travel between the two locations. Muslim Hands UK is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join our team during an exciting period of growth and change as we have ambitious plans to grow our activities by 2020.

Essential Criterian for Applicants:

  • Eligibility to Work in the UK
  • Degree/B.Ed. and PGCE/QTS or other UK qualified teacher status (or undergoing currently any of these qualifications will be considered)
  • With the qualified teacher status, having had some years’ teaching experience in the UK Primary and/or Secondary sectors, preferably both
  • Experience of working with school age children at either state maintained, voluntary controlled or independent schools’ level.
  • Ability to travel to MH educational establishments on a global level for monitoring and evaluation (M & E), once trained, of our schools
  • Proven efficiency in reading and writing skills
  • Excellent oral communication skills in English
  • Ability to observe lessons and based on own experience make valued and informative judgements on schools’ performance for M & E.
  • Monitoring of all our global schools’ performance on a monthly basis
  • Proofreading and putting together schools’ Feedback Reports
  • Competency in IT skills; word processing/excel etc
  • Financial competence - once trained, inputting on programmes software schools’ budgets
  • Overseeing within Educational Department schools’ budgetary requirements

  • Awareness of current UK educational trends and ability to utilise good practise,
  • Taking advantage of UK based teacher training opportunities
  • Taking part in all relevant office training
  • Supporting our overseas educational partners on curriculum issues, training, proposals and policies, especially Child Protection Policy
  • Contributing towards a coherent overall departmental strategic plan
  • Enthusiasm, patience, imagination, creativity, energy, adaptability, responsibility, autonomy and passion (for Educational programmes).
  • Relevant experience within an NGO/Charity.
