Job description

Muslim Youth Helpline is an award winning faith and culturally sensitive support service. We provide emotional support and signposting by phone, email and webchat.

Volunteers are required to have a non-judgemental attitude, be committed to professional volunteering by being on time and present at their shifts, commit to further training, and to their own self care. Volunteers will receive induction training before being able to answer enquiries on the helpline. After that there is plenty of in-role training, and formal update training every month.

The training provided in this role enables you to have better conversations with everyone in your life. Communication skills are taught and practiced thoroughly. You will be taught basic counselling skills which are useful throughout your life. The team is friendly and fun, and you’ll meet like minded non-judgemental people.
