Campaigning charity looking for Press and Media Officer.
Reporting into NEA’s Head of Communications and Campaigns, you will promote NEA and our campaign for warm homes across general and specialist media, raising the issue of fuel poverty up the news agenda.
NEA believes everyone should be able to keep their homes warm and safe. Over the coming years, the drive toward a net zero carbon future could hold a significant key to eradicating fuel poverty across the UK. We are looking for people to help turn our goals into reality by making the solutions for people in fuel poverty compelling and unavoidable.
NEA is a passionate and supportive place to work. You will work alongside campaigners, frontline support staff, researchers, technical experts and educators. We provide a flexible and supportive working environment. The post is likely to be based at NEA’s head office in Newcastle or NEA’s London office but we are a geographically dispersed organisation, and you may be based elsewhere. Wherever you are, you will make a huge difference for people forced to live in cold and damp homes.
You will want to make an impact. You will want to be part of a passionate team. You will want to help NEA get stronger and more effective in speaking up for those in fuel poverty. You will share our passion for creating big change so that everyone can afford to keep their homes warm and safe. You will position NEA and the experience of living in Fuel Poverty with mainstream and specialist media and have experience in writing powerful copy for press releases and comment pieces to promote advocacy priorities and programme activities. We particularly welcome applications from disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates as BAME and disabled people are currently under-represented within NEA.
