Job description

The post holder will report to NEA’s Innovation and Technical Evaluation Manager. We are looking for a candidate who would ideally be based in NEA’s Head Office, Newcastle but consideration will be given to candidates outside of the North East if they are able to demonstrate a willingness to travel to the North East and elsewhere to participate in field work and project delivery when necessary.

 NEA’s Innovation and Technical Evaluation team are responsible for leading on NEA’s socio-technical field trials to better understand how innovation and technologies can be used to enhance outcomes for fuel poor customers who may be reliant on a low income and/or living in a vulnerable situation.

 A large part of the role will be to deliver comprehensive social and technical monitoring and data analysis relating to domestic properties.  Results help us to understand the impact of energy efficiency interventions on a client’s comfort and affordability and any impact on the thermal efficiency of the property alongside energy costs and comfort.  The successful post holder will also have responsibility for delivering tailored technical energy advice to householders, which may include communicating complex information about energy, heating systems and their controls in an accessible way.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate understanding or experience of energy efficiency, heating and insulation technologies and their application in domestic settings.
