This is a new role in which the Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Manager will have the opportunity to develop and implement a fundraising programme and have a huge and positive impact on the work and future of the National Paralympic Heritage Trust.

This is a 2.5-day/week role with the potential to become full-time in a year. 

About NPHT

The National Paralympic Heritage Trust was formed in 2015 as a Charity and Company limited by guarantee and is coming to the end of its first 5 years of operation, entering a new phase of exciting work for which we wish to appoint a Trust and Foundation Fundraising Manager, to help us achieve a major part of our fundraising plan.


Working closely with our team you will implement our fundraising plan, identifying and securing new sources of funding around projects and, researching and making applications to trusts and foundations, and statutory grant sources to support the work of the NPHT. You will manage the relationships with new funders including reporting.

Location: NPHT / Remote working 

Hours: Part-time (2.5 days or 20 hours per week). We are open to flexible working arrangements. Some evening and weekend work may be required. 

Salary: £36,000 to £40,000 pro rata depending on experience
Contract length: 12-month fixed-term contract with the possibility to extend

Who are we looking for? 

We are looking for an experienced fundraiser who is comfortable writing grant applications and cultivating supporter relationships, who strongly believes in the work of the NPHT, and can take our income generation to new levels. 

We want an excellent bid writer who is willing to get involved in other aspects of fundraising such as audience development where appropriate. We are looking for a team player who is both confident and sensitive to working in our context.

Role & Responsibilities 


  • Implementation of year 1 of the NPHT’s new fundraising plan – this will include writing and managing grant applications. 
  • Build a database of new funding opportunities and contacts. 
  • Write and develop bespoke funding applications/bids to a high standard and in a timely way in order to secure relevant funds from a range of funders including trusts and foundations, and statutory funders.
  • Work with the CEO and internal stakeholders to develop and coordinate specific project funding proposals and bids for each project and core costs 
  • Develop plans and cultivate potential relationships with trusts and foundations, and statutory bodies. 
  • Explore the potential of Fundraising interns and volunteers for specific pieces of work and research. 


  • Collaborate with the CEO and wider team to identify and keep track of funding needs and opportunities 
  • Facilitate the long-term vision for income generation, coordinating meetings with stakeholders as required 
  • Actively research and keep up to date with news and developments within the funding landscape in which the NPHT operates, proactively spotting and assessing new funding opportunities 
  • Ensure that the NPHT is effectively networking at local, regional, national and international levels, maximising awareness of our work. 


  • Work closely with the Digital Content Manager on developing our profile and reach within the funding landscape and ensuring funders are appropriately credited. 
  • Work closely with the NPHT Marketing consultant to ensure that communications and social media demonstrate our impact to current and potential funders. 


  • Communicate and collaborate with all internal stakeholders to gather necessary information with care. 
  • Communicate reporting and evaluation deadlines and requirements to the relevant team members. 
  • Ensure all fundraising information is well documented and saved on the shared drive. 
  • Comply with the NPHT Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, Safeguarding and other key policies 
  • Represent and advocate for the NPHT at events 
  • Ensure effective communications with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Undertake any other duties which may be reasonably required. 

Person Specification 


  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working within a fundraising role 
  • A proven track record of writing successful funding applications to a range of funders
  • Experience of cultivating and managing supporter and partnership relationships 
  • Experience of carrying out monitoring and evaluation of grant-funded projects 
  • Experience working within the museums/arts/health/sport and/or charity sectors 


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong IT and web skills 
  • Strong organisational skills 
  • Skilled in making Sales and understanding of negotiation techniques 
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team 


  • An understanding of Fundraising law including GDPR and how this applies in a fundraising environment 
  • Understanding of key issues in the cultural sectors 


  • Fundraising qualification/recognised accreditation


NEST pension. You will be entitled to 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata). We offer flexible working hours.
