Job Description

National Ugly Mugs (NUM) is an award-winning charity with a mandate to ‘end violence against sex workers.’ NUM provides an innovative, centralised mechanism for documenting and disseminating reports of violence against sex workers to others in their communities and to law enforcement and intelligence agencies. We are committed to advocating for sex workers’ improved access to justice by supporting them in reporting crimes and through our relationships, aiding sex workers in preventing and recovering from the victimisation they experience. Further, our data on trends in crimes against sex workers is used to inform changes in policies to reduce harm, increase social protections, and support sex workers’ abilities to exercise their rights within and outside of the criminal justice system.

NUM receives over 700 reports of crimes against sex workers every year. The Victim Support Case Worker is the first point of contact for victims and plays an integral role in ensuring that sex workers are aware of their rights and options; are supported throughout their contact with law enforcement and criminal justice (if they choose it); and assisted in healing from trauma.

About the role

National Ugly Mugs are looking to recruit a Victim Support Case Worker to provide greater access to justice and protections for sex workers throughout the UK.  If you have a passion for sex worker rights and skills and training in victim support, you could be the person we are looking for.  Applications from people with experience in and knowledge of the UK sex work community is desirable.

This is a fulltime post, funded for 3-years.
