Main purpose of the job

Natural Breaks are seeking an enthusiastic Fundraising Officer with experience in fundraising through Trusts/Foundations, Public Donations, Events and Corporates. This role is an exciting opportunity which will allow you to use your initiative and creativity to develop and promote a diverse range of fundraising activities and projects to support Natural Breaks Fundraising Strategy and income generation to maximise positive outcomes for the people we support and their families in line with our Mission.

Normal working hours: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm. Full Time, permanent.

However, may be required to work evening and weekends where necessary.

Report to: Initially C.E.O. and working closely with Finance Manager

Supervision of: Communications Coordinator

Main duties and responsibilities:

To meet all agreed fundraising strategy targets, timelines and income projections.

To develop public fundraising opportunities and activities.

To proactively achieve agreed income and expenditure targets to meet agreed fundraising targets against set deadlines and report progress towards these.

To research, identify and manage fundraising opportunities from trusts, foundations, institutional funders, governments and statutory-making bodies, corporate and private donors as well as managing existing supporters and funders.

To establish sources of funding including innovative use of supporting the management of social media channels as a way of profile raising for the charity and securing support as a result.

To complete grant applications to charitable trusts or statutory bodies, coordinate implementation of successful bids with operational management and ensure compliance with funders’ reporting requirements.

To build relationships with major donors or companies and make presentations to promote our work and secure donations.

To manage a donor database, ensuring donations are acknowledged whilst meeting GDPR regulations.

To build and maintain relationships with individuals or companies that have made donations to Natural Breaks: to ensure they are happy with their donation scheme (e.g. as part of a charity of the year partnership) and are kept informed of progress and milestones communicating and feeding back as required.

To ensure the charity and any activities adhere to fundraising legislation and regulations.

To plan, arrange and manage fundraising events and to support third party fundraising events where required.

To supervise Communications Coordinator to raise the profile of the organisation.

To be self-motivated and able to manage a diverse and changing workload.

To contribute towards the wider work of the team to achieve organisational objectives.

Agree to undertake any other duties commensurate with the position.
