NAZ is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to take up the role of Head Of Counselling for a 4-month Sabbatical Cover. They will be a qualified counsellor / psychotherapist and will be responsible for coordinating a team of volunteer and placement counsellors to deliver the service.
NAZ’s counselling service provides professional and culturally competent sexual health and HIV counselling to our client groups – from Black, Brown and Minoritized communities, many of whom are living with HIV and / or are LGBTQI identified. We aim to improve access to mental health services and improve the quality of life for BAME people around a range of issues including HIV diagnosis, difficulties around sexuality, relationships, self-esteem and depression. We provide a short-term focused intervention of 12 sessions across 12 weeks.
NAZ is the HIV and sexual health charity dedicated to people experiencing better sexual health. We do this because there’s a big gap in the sexual health outcomes of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities compared to the general population. Everything we do works to reverse this trend. NAZ has been serving Black, Brown and Minoritized communities for over 29 years.
The role is based at 30 Blacks Road, W6 9DT; though also includes working from home at present due to Covid-19.
Due to our delivery of counselling to predominantly BAME service users, this post is only open to people who are BAME (or multiple heritage including this).
Please send your CV and covering letter to Parminder Sekhon via email.
For more information about the role please see the Job Description and Person Specification, available from this website.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
