Salary: £22,000 pro rata

Role length: Up to 3 months

Location: Greater London, Bucks & Berks, Surrey, West Midlands, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Yorkshire.

About the role

Join The Challenge, the UK’s largest provider of NCS, and help us ensure the smooth running of our youth and community programme throughout June to September this summer.

NCS (National Citizen Service) is a government-backed initiative with a mission to equip 15-17 year olds with the confidence, skills and support they need to make a real difference in their local communities

Working in one of our regional offices, the Relationship Manager oversees a range of key external relationships between NCS The Challenge and our local business and community partners. Ensuring that clear lines of communication are maintained throughout each partner’s involvement with NCS, The Relationship Manager also works closely with the Social Action Managers and Community Logistics Managers to ensure that the programme runs smoothly and to schedule on-site.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Providing clear logistical information to external partners, ensuring they are prepared for their engagement with NCS

  • Contacting partners prior to, during and after their involvement to ensure a positive partner journey

  • Conducting Risk Assessments on visits that young people will make to the external partners

  • Completing effective handover procedures to ensure that relevant and accurate information is passed to the rest of the Programme Delivery staff.

Person Specification

  • Experience of managing relationships with external organisations and businesses

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organisational skills

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Understanding of working with diverse community groups

This fixed-term role is perfect for experienced project managers with strong communication and relationship management skills.
