Job description

Children’s Worker / Youth Worker 

Northallerton and surrounding area

20 hours per week 3 out of 7 days (flexible)

£22,763 pa (£11.79 per hour) pro rata

The role:

 

In this role, you’ll work as a key worker and team member to deliver and develop support services for children and young people, aged up to 16 years who have experienced domestic abuse, in order to ensure their safety and emotional well-being.

 

You’ll also assist in the delivery of excellent customer focused services, operating in accordance with best practice and within the policies and procedures of our Association.

 

You’ll have:

 

  • Experience working with children and young people, ideally in a supported housing setting.

  • Excellent naturalistic observation skills.

  • An NVQ level II in Health and Social Care or equivalent. 

  • Good verbal and written communication, analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Good motivational skills with the ability to encourage residents to maximise their opportunities.

  • A good understanding of the principles of practice in working with vulnerable people and children in particular with an awareness of the impact of domestic abuse to the victim and family.
