About the role
Our client has an opportunity for a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Apprentice to join the Regulatory Compliance SHE team. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and develop in a dynamic and growing customer-facing business. You will require good administration and observation skills. Your role will involve Health and Safety site inspections, hazard identification, preparation of Toolbox talks, updating the Accident / Incident database, preparation of KPI data, input into updating Risk Assessments and assisting in minor Accident investigations.
You will possess a good secondary school education, with GCSEs in English, Maths, Science and ICT; A Levels or equivalent would also be advantageous. You will be keen to learn and develop in a challenging environment and willing to study a Health and Safety Technicians apprenticeship; as well as IOSH and NEBOSH certificates to support this. Being able to organise work in a systematic and streamlined manner is a must, and a good understanding of MS Office is required along with customer care and teamwork skills. The ability to be assertive, persuade and influence would be an advantage where issues of non-compliance require corrective actions, reporting and occasional discussions with the Trades Workforce. A basic knowledge of the construction industry would also be beneficial in starting this role.
As you will be required to travel across the region as required for meetings and site visits, a full UK Driving License is essential.
