Young Persons Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA)


£25,238 - £26,499 (+ £750 Car Allowance) per annum – depending on skills

About the role 

Our client is currently recruiting for a Young Persons Domestic Violence Advisor on a full time and permanent basis.


You will work effectively with the wider staff team, other professionals such as social care, the police and health professionals in order to reduce the risk for victims. You will be required to provide a rapid responsive support service with a high quality of customer care, in line with the agreed values and aims of the service and act as the voice of the victim within the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference.


You will help facilitate groups and other activities that are in the common interest of this client group, including help to develop community links.


Within the role, you will be expected to present information both verbally and in a report to multi agency meetings and child protection conferences. You must also feed back to the team leader any information related to the client’s support needs or risk issues, and progress on support tasks.

About you 

It is essential that you hold a Young Persons IDVA qualification or be willing to achieve this within 6 months of employment. 


You will have demonstrable experience of working with vulnerable people and have the ability to understand complex letters and forms and enable clients to understand and complete these.


Direct experience of risk assessment when working with people needing support is essential along with detailed knowledge of legal remedies for victims of domestic abuse.


A detailed understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding principles is required for this role. You must have excellent time management and negotiating skills and be able to develop the role and meet the needs of the service.
