Job description

Newark Youth London is a leading young people’s charity working in Tower Hamlets since 1984.  We run a number of youth clubs, personal development & social action projects, and sports provision for our users.  It’s an exciting time to join the organisation as we embark on several new projects working with young people to improve their lives in Tower Hamlets & East London. We are a small friendly team and are passionate about the development of children and young people.

We have an exciting opportunity to offer a 1-year Internship role as Engagement Officer.  If you are interested in working in the charity sector, have a passion for supporting young people to develop their potential, and have a talent for digital and face to face communications, this is the role for you.

The Engagement Officer will benefit from being part of a network of charity Interns funded by the Jack Petchey Foundation.

We are a long-established youth charity, deeply rooted in our community in East London.   Having steadily grown the services we offer, we are now looking for an Engagement Officer to develop our approach to Youth Leadership and Voice.

The Newark Engagement Officer will co-produce with young people a new framework that puts young people’s views firmly at the heart of Newark’s decision making.   You will also lead on development of digital and social communication and our annual recognition event.

  • Someone already in employment but looking to move into the charity sector
  • Good with social media and communication
  • Have relevant qualifications and experiences of working with young people around Youth Leadership and Voice
  • Expected to take up their role by 30 April 2021
