Whitechapel, Greater London
£17,290 per year (£34,580 FTE)
Contract, 1 year, Part-time
Job description

Newark Youth London is a leading young people’s charity working in Tower Hamlets since 1984.  We run a number of youth clubs, personal development & social action projects, and sports provision for our users.  It’s an exciting time to join the organisation as we grow organically and embark on several new projects.  We are a small friendly team and are passionate about the development of children and young people.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Part Time Programme Manager to oversee some of our exciting community-based projects aimed at changing the lives of young people in Tower Hamlets and across East London. The post holder will use their strong people skills, HR knowledge and programme delivery experience to guide and support the staff responsible for delivering our projects and services. As a senior staff member, the post holder will play a key role in being part of Newark’s leadership team and contribute to its story of successful growth and achievements.

The post holder will be responsible for managing key staff and projects, and support Newark’s Manager with other aspects of running the charity.  It will be advantageous if the post holder has experience and skills in Finance, Fundraising, Governance, Monitoring & Evaluation.  We require some flexibility from the post holder with occasional evening or weekend work, but the bulk of the job could be delivered in the day-time. The job may therefore suit someone who mainly wants to work during the middle of the day.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Excellent knowledge of HR and current employment practice
  • Experience of managing, supervising and developing staff
  • Experience of successful delivery of projects and programmes
  • Hold relevant professional/vocational qualification

If you are a confident, knowledgeable manager of people and projects, with a focus on good practice and efficient delivery, please apply or call for an informal chat.

The successful candidate will undergo enhanced DBS checks.

Closing Date: Sunday 20th June 2021, 5pm.  Interviews will be held on Saturday 26th June 2021.
