This is an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to work with a growing organisation delivering social change and helping them to thrive.
Position: Calderdale Team Leader
Location: Cross Green, Leeds, LS9. Delivering work on an outreach basis in the Calderdale local authority area. Opportunities to work from home and council offices in Halifax when not delivering front line work.
Hours: 28 hours per week
Salary: £30,266 – £33,767 per annum (Pro-rata)

The Role
With support from the team and Calderdale partners, you will develop a new service for Gypsies and Travellers who live in Calderdale. Whilst you will be guided by our service specification you will have the opportunity to further engage with community members and bring your own ideas to this exciting new project.
Your starting point will be to engage with partners and partnerships, to reach out and find and sign up new members (Gypsies and Travellers) in Calderdale; across roadside families, and those living in bricks and mortar accommodations and yards. You will line manage an advocate which will include supporting them to continue to deliver the roadside advocacy service.
You will ensure the smooth running of our Calderdale work, being the first point of contact for members and will link them to our specialist West Yorkshire services.
You will work with the senior leadership team on strategic projects and meetings, involving our members in these. You will develop and lead a small team including project plans, monitoring, contributing to fundraising and being a first point of contact for safeguarding.
Key responsibilities include:
Staff Management
Lead and manage a small team to include staff, volunteers, and students
Ensure regular supervision, a weekly team meeting, and diary management
Ensure all organizational processes are followed by your team
Responsible for booking and managing training for your team including mandatory, role-specific, and personal development
Ensure your staff understand and implement the processes developed to manage quality in your department
Fundraising
Complete small funding bids with support from your manager
Manage project budgets and ensure finance processes are followed
Partnership Working
Ensure good relationships with our funders and supporters
Work directly with partner organizations to improve options for our members establishing new activities and offers
Project Management
Co-ordinate the delivery of projects in your team
Lead project planning meetings and update documents
Set and follow a delivery plan for your area that is co-produced with our members – ensuring a variety of activities reaching new and existing members
Complete funder and organisational monitoring returns in a timely manner to your manager
About You
Essential criteria include:
English GCSE or equivalent
Maths GCSE or equivalent
Experience in supervising staff and volunteers
Experience working with Gypsy and Traveller communities or other marginalised groups
Experience in delivering and planning projects
Experience working in partnership with other agencies
Experience in making safeguarding decisions
Experience in managing relationships with funders and contract managers
