Title: Natural Estate Manager

About the Role

We’re looking for a Natural Estate Manager to lead and deliver a busy but rewarding programme of conservation work across Gilwell Park, helping to improve habitats, boost biodiversity and create more opportunities for people to connect with nature. Guided by our new 10-year woodland management plan and best-practice conservation methods, you’ll take a hands-on approach to estate maintenance and habitat improvement across the site.

Working both independently and alongside staff teams, volunteers, corporate supporters and young people, you’ll help create meaningful change for nature and for visitors. From practical conservation tasks to wider estate projects, you’ll play a key role in shaping and protecting the natural environment at Gilwell Park.

Key Responsibilities as our Natural Estate Manager

• Lead practical grounds and woodland work at Gilwell Park, supporting habitat improvements and estate maintenance.
• Use and maintain machinery and tools safely, carrying out inspections, repairs and general site upkeep.
• Lead and support volunteers, corporate groups and young people in practical conservation activities and skills sharing.
• Support conservation partnerships and nature recovery projects, including habitat work, monitoring and reporting.
• Champion nature regeneration, maintain high health and safety standards, and support events, training and wider site activities for Scouts and Scout Adventures.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

• Experience in practical conservation, habitat management and estate maintenance, with good knowledge of woodland and parkland management.
• Confidence using and maintaining machinery, tools and equipment safely, with experience in health and safety and risk assessments.
• Experience leading volunteers and skills sessions with people of all ages, including young people, and working independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication and project management skills, with experience supporting conservation projects, partnerships and reporting.
• A proactive, hands-on and enthusiastic approach, with a passion for conservation and helping young people connect with nature outdoors.
• A full UK driving licence and relevant countryside, woodland or estate management qualifications.

Main Purpose and Scope of the Job:

 You will lead on the development and preparation of compelling and high-quality responses to grant applications, bid writing, commissioning and tenders.  Support the Director of Income Generation and Communications and wider Executive Leadership Team with responses to complex tenders and funding applications. 

Complete all tender Pre-Qualification Questionnaires, Invitations to Tender and relevant administration in an accurate and timely manner.

Undertake the reporting and monitoring of all grants and commissioned services, in line with contracts and Service Level Agreements and working with the Data Analyst ensuring funding requirements, reporting and compliance are met.  Undertake Quality Assurance activities on all aspects of reporting and monitoring prior to submission.

Manage (and delegate where appropriate) and quality assure all subject access requests, complaints and data queries in line with Data Protection and GDPR legislation, working with, and supported by the Director of Income Generation and Communications and/or DPO on complex cases.

Prepare written materials including press-releases and annual reports which aid in conveying core activities and promote organisational activities in line with our values.

Our Challenge Events team has seen a massive increase in fundraiser numbers this year. We’re hiring to unlock the full potential of this incredible community. Reporting into the Challenge Events Manager, you’ll boost our ability to grow our portfolio of events and connect personally with the incredible people who support CALM on a day to day basis. 

The reasons people fundraise for CALM can be deeply personal. They might have lost someone to suicide, used our helpline for themselves or someone they know, or they might want to support a lifesaving service. By understanding what drives them, you’ll shape and deliver event experiences that feel meaningful and memorable, strengthen their connection to CALM, and inspire them to keep coming back for more. 

Responsibilities

• Support on delivery of the Challenge Events portfolio, ensuring Challenge Event Fundraisers are staying on track - such as completing registration forms on time, and setting up fundraising pages

• Provide end-to-end operational support for fundraising events, including liaising with venues, partners and suppliers, obtaining quotes, coordinating travel and logistics, working with production teams, preparing materials, producing risk assessments, and creation of event documentation such as briefs, schedules and post-event evaluations

• Represent CALM at Events, including acting as an Event Day Lead, and attending wider CALM events

• Work with the Challenge Events Manager and Event Fundraising Lead to develop our portfolio of events, contributing ideas, analysing performance, identifying opportunities and putting ideas into action

• Steward CALM’s Challenge Event Fundraisers effectively throughout their journey when supporting CALM, to ensure they feel appreciated and inspired to fundraise for us

• Be the friendly voice of CALM, responding to enquiries through the website or phone in a timely manner

• Proactively craft and send personalised emails to fundraisers to drive retention and satisfaction

• Help with the management and optimisation of Event email automated journeys used to steward participants in the lead up to and after their event

• Help to devise and manage our event marketing strategy 

• Deliver stewardship calls to Event Fundraisers - welcoming them to the team after sign up, wishing them good luck before their event, or offering them fundraising guidance and support 

• Work confidently across key income platforms to ensure accurate setup, coding and reporting of fundraising pages, campaigns and donations, including JustGiving and Enthuse.

• Support on the maintenance of relevant pages on the CALM website

• Analyse feedback from fundraisers via our post event surveys and identify areas for improvement

• Engage with Fundraisers on our CALM Facebook groups - sparking conversation and fostering a supportive community atmosphere

• Recruit and manage volunteers to support at events

• Work with the wider organisation to improve processes and data management

• Support in other areas of Public Fundraising as required, including community fundraising and individual giving.

Competencies

Essential

• A strong understanding of challenge event fundraising and event delivery

• Able to take initiative, manage a varied work load with great organisational skills

• Passion for fundraising and understanding of the importance of providing excellent supporter care by telephone, SMS, and email

The role 

In collaboration with the Head of Communications and Director of Income Generation you will help develop Farleigh Hospice’s supporter engagement and individual giving programme, with a focus on retention, growing regular giving and lifetime value.

A key part of your role will be leading the development of our approach to supporter journeys and stewardship frameworks, working closely with the fundraising team to ensure a consistent and high-quality experience across all fundraising channels, and ensuring every supporter feels valued, motivated and connected to our mission.

You will also support the communications and fundraising teams to analyse supporter data to ensure we are using insights to refine our activity and support the success of all income streams.

Using your strong leadership and team management skills you will provide guidance, direction and support to the supporter engagement team, while delivering impactful campaigns, supporter journeys and stewardship touchpoints.

This role ensures the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of fund processes, including trade settlement, reconciliation, operational checks for cash management, and data management. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with attention to detail and an understanding of financial markets. 

What you will do:

• Monitor and support daily fund operations, including trade processing, settlements, drawdown checks, account opening

• Perform reconciliations across custodians, brokers, and internal systems to ensure data accuracy, counterparty management

• Liaise with internal teams (portfolio management, compliance, risk) and external parties (custodians, administrators, auditors)

• Maintain and improve operational processes and controls

• Fund documentation ingestion management and data inputs

• Project management and assistance with Investment team’s post investment decision deal onboarding

• Prepare periodic reporting requests / questionnaires for external stakeholders

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, and support ongoing compliance reporting of the business

• Support KYC/CDD processes for all investment and advisory relationships 

• Participate in at least one ‘BSC Citizenship’ activity, helping to make BSC a great place to work – this could be helping to organise our summer or winter social, joining the Staff Council or helping with health and safety

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

• Demonstrable experience of your excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 

• Experience of working in an environment where high level of attention to detail and accuracy is vital 

Desirable

• 1–3 years of experience in fund operations, asset management, or financial services (preferred but not mandatory)  

• Understanding of financial instruments (particularly alternatives) is preferred but not mandatory  

• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with AI, CRM and PMS systems

Hope into Action is an inspiring story.  It starts with a couple, Ed and Rach Walker, who decide to use £30,000 of their own money to buy a house for people who were homeless in Peterborough in 2010.  And from this seed, an organisation has grown which 16 years later has 134 houses and has seen over £34 million invested in homes for people who were homeless.

Hope into Action is a story of how faith in God has been put into action and led to resources being shared, new relationships being formed and people’s lives being transformed.

Last year we housed over 500 people who had been homeless. Each of those individuals has a story to share of how Hope into Action has helped them. This is the story we want to share.

The Communications & Engagement Lead is responsible for implementing Hope into Action’s communications and engagement strategy. Working closely with the CEO, they will be responsible for telling the Hope into Action story and driving increased engagement with our vision for every church in the UK to be engaged in ending homelessness.

At least 50% of the role is harvesting stories from around our Network to create engaging content which expresses our vision and mission. We want someone who can be both responsive and strategic. To hear a story from our frontline workers and be able to share it on our website and social media later that day – whilst also working towards the longer term goal of more people in the UK being aware of our work and its impact.

St Benedict’s Centre Warden

Part Time – 21 hours (3 days) per week

The St Benedict’s Centre is situated within the grounds of Malling Abbey, the home of an Anglican Benedictine religious community in the heart of the Kent countryside. It is a place of great beauty, a liminal space which draws deeply on its spiritual heritage and tradition to engage with the needs of contemporary society: education, training, counselling, holistic therapy, study days, quiet days, workshops and much more.

We are seeking a Centre Warden to provide overall leadership for the Centre, taking responsibility for setting culture and vision across the organization. The Centre Warden will develop strong and successful relationships with key external partners, deliver an imaginative programme for spiritual retreats and quiet days, and ensure that there are sufficient resources available for the Centre to flourish.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience and understanding of retreat and quiet day programming in a setting like St Benedict’s. You will be able to build relational capital with a range of stakeholders, and have excellent organisational and communications skills.

Our Youth and Play Practitioners will play a pivotal role in the Children, Young People and Families (CYPF) team, working as a core team of practitioners to ensure the smooth running of our programmes and services. In this role you will be part of a small and dynamic team which delivers a wide range of programmes and activities, both from Tulse Hill Adventure Playground and in conjunction with local schools. The work of the Children, Young People and Families team is diverse and varied. Our current services include open access adventure play and youth activities at our Adventure Playground, school holiday programmes with off-site trips and activities, mentoring, a Young Leaders programme offering paid work experience to young people, and working together with our youth partnerships Building Young Brixton and Lambeth Peer Action Collective.

We are in an exciting time of development for the team. To support our range of children and young people, our team will be made up of specialist Youth Workers and Play Practitioners bringing in relevant skills and experience. Whilst you will work across all of our Children, Young People and Families services you will have a specific focus:

As a Youth Worker you will:

• Focus on supporting our secondary age cohort
• Plan and run appropriate and engaging activities
• Provide structured interventions to support vulnerable young people

As a Play Worker you will:

To be successful in this role, you will act as a trusted practitioner in all our service delivery, advocating for children’s right to play throughout our programmes. You will work as part of the team on the delivery and planning of all sessions, ensuring that the children’s and young people’s ideas are central to the construction of a varied and engaging play environment. You will understand the wide-ranging challenges facing young people and will be flexible in adjusting your practice to meet these needs. While practitioners may have a primary focus (primary or secondary age), all staff are expected to work flexibly across all age groups, programmes and delivery model including open access play, targeted youth work, mentoring and school link sessions.
