This role will include supporting birth relatives to meet with adoptive parents and to help birth relatives understand the importance for children, to keep connected to their relatives and significant people from their past.
Ideally, you will have previous experience of working with birth relatives whose children have been placed for adoption and you will have a good understanding of the adoption process. You will work with relatives from a range of diverse backgrounds, lived experiences and those who may be neuro diverse and you will need to demonstrate understanding, respectfulness and adaptability to your social work practice.

Who we are
The problem - On average, 160 young people are excluded from school each week. Once excluded, prospects for these young people are bleak, with only 4% achieving good GCSE grades, and 67% entering sustained education, employment or training compared to 96% of their non-excluded peers. This can be a pipeline to prison, with concerning statistics showing 63% of prisoners having been excluded from school.
Our mission - To ensure that young people who have been excluded from school are not excluded from society.
Who we serve - We support the hardest to reach young people in the most disadvantaged communities, each of whom are most at risk of experiencing school exclusion or are at risk of being excluded. Young people who are eligible for free school meals are 4x more likely to get excluded, along with black Caribbean boys. Young people with special educational needs are also six times as likely to be excluded as their peers.
Our work - We work in a number of different settings both during term time and after school. Our coaches lead small groups of 8-10 young people, using sport as a hook and mentorship as an anchor to develop their soft skills, as well as improve their physical & mental wellbeing. This, coupled with exposure to the work place through Career Taster Days, raises their aspirations and puts young people in a better position to enter sustained education, employment or training (EET) when they leave school.

We are looking for someone to carry out maternity cover for our Programme Manager (Midlands & North). The Programme Manager role purpose is to lead on all aspects of service delivery within the Midlands & North area, which currently covers the following hubs: Birmingham, Solihull, Leicester, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham, Liverpool, Warrington & Oldham. This is a 10 month fixed term role with the opportunity to extend employment at the end of the contract.
This includes accountability for the delivery of our in person services, digital delivery (Player Profiles), impact, employability, regional fundraising, regional partnerships, business development and people across all regions in the Midlands & North. You will directly line manage at least 3 people but be responsible for a wider team of circa 15 people.
This is a varied and hands on role that will be full of purpose. You’ll be joining a supportive and driven team that works hard to help young people change their lives. As a manager you will play a key part in the leadership of the organisation and driving the implementation of strategic plans on the ground.

We’re looking for someone to join our team who is just as passionate as we are about getting young people outdoors to have an adventure. GFS is a feminist organisation with a mission to empower girls and young women in England and Wales to live their best lives. Girls as young as 6 tell us that they cannot be themselves. This causes problems for them and society. So, we offer an early intervention service for girls living in areas of deprivation to have the greatest impact.
This is an exciting role with an opportunity to lead the charity into the 150th Year of delivery and with a new strategy to address need. This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and steadfast team of staff in the pivotal role of Finance Manager. As the Finance Manager, you will have the opportunity to showcase excellent financial and team management skills, as you provide outstanding support and services to senior Finance Team colleagues, regional area teams and our foster carers, on a daily basis. The Finance Manager may be homebased within England, Scotland or Wales but will be required to travel to face-to-face events occasionally for team meetings, training and wellbeing events.

Overall Duties of the Finance Manager will include:
- Implementing and Maintaining financial controls across the organisation
- Preparation of reports for the Executive and Trustees
- Responsibility for Children's Savings
- Progressing schedules / reconciliations and reports for statutory audits
- Leading on use and development of finance systems across the organisation
- Responsibility for electronic financial systems across the organisation
- Responsibility for payroll and associated procedures for employees
- Responsibility for payments and associated procedures for foster carers
- Line management and development of the finance team
- Liaison with third party providers such as banks, HRMC, Local Authorities etc
- Having up to date knowledge of security, data protection and charity sector legislation in relation to finance.

The position has become available as a result of an exciting internal promotion. Therefore, we are seeking a personable and proactive individual with exceptional attention to detail to join our team of Operations Officers.
As an Operations Officer, you will support the operational delivery and development of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) through managing a portfolio of Licensed Organisations (LOs). These LOs are mostly schools but we also work with other organisations such as colleges, local authorities, and community groups.
The role will be field-based, and you will be expected to visit organisations within your portfolio regularly. When not attending meetings, employees work from home where you will need to have an appropriate home office set up and live within, or close to, the portfolio area of Swindon and Southern parts of Gloucestershire. What we are looking for:

You will need to have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders and have the skills to inspire and influence them to enable young people to participate in DofE.
To undertake the role, you’ll need to be exceptionally organised, have the ability to prioritise your workload, meet deadlines and have excellent administrative skills, being both computer literate and competent in MS Office applications.
