Job description

We're the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB Group) and we're here for everyone affected by sight loss. Working for us means working for one of the UK's biggest charities, supporting almost two million people living with sight loss in the UK.

RNIB is pleased to announce this exciting opportunity to join RNIB's Eye Care Support Services (ECSS).

In this role, you will be a vital member of the management team, providing operational leadership and line management support to Eye Care Liaison Officers (ECLO) and managing all aspects of operational delivery in our ECLO Services across the North of England (including but may not be limited to Tyne & Wear, Northumberland, Cumbria, County Durham & Teeside). You will also participate in the strategic and business planning processes working with key internal and external key stakeholders.

Working with the Eye Care Support Services Management team, you will support and maintain key relationships across health and social care to ensure that RNIB can reach more people with sight loss, earlier. Working across RNIB functions, you will also manage key internal relationships to support the delivery of our service to ensure patients access support at a time which is right for them.

You will have a vocational qualification in management, advice and guidance, or be experienced in successfully managing information and advice services. You will have demonstrable knowledge of key stakeholders involved within health and social care, excellent people management skills and have the ability to motivate and manage a geographically dispersed team, demonstrating an open and transparent management style who is solution focussed with a can-do approach to motivate and inspire your team.

You will be experienced in producing reports, delivering presentations, meeting Key Performance Indicators and a proficient user of Microsoft Office Packages and CRM systems.

Supporting ECLOs and services mainly across the North of England and other UK contracts as required, this role will involve, regular local and occasional national travel where there will requirements for occasional overnight stays.

This role is eligible for an enhanced criminal record check which includes a check of the children's and adults barred lists as the role holder will provide advice and guidance to children which relates to their physical and emotional wellbeing and adults which relates to personal care because of their disability.
