This is a key role within the Corporate Partnerships team, working collaboratively across the organisation. We work with a range of valued corporate partners and have ambitious plans to grow sustainable net income each year, to help the thousands of cats that need us. This role will help support the Partnerships Team achieve its income targets by providing high quality support for current partners, partner engagement and excellent stewardship. This role will manage a portfolio of partners to help implement the Corporate Partnerships fundraising plan and increase sustainable net income for Cats Protection as well as support the Corporate Partnerships team in developing new corporate partnerships and develop existing partnerships.
Responsibilities of our Corporate Partnerships Officer:
As Corporate Partnerships Officer you will help identify, research and cultivate relationships with existing partners and to help implement the corporate partnerships fundraising plan, aligned with the wider fundraising strategy.
You will hold responsibility for managing a portfolio of partners providing cultivation and engagement strategies which maximise their lifetime value, using corporate fundraising techniques and support the development of creative and compelling proposals for existing partners and develop inspiring and engaging communications.
You will support the Corporate Partnerships team with larger accounts and projects and the transition of new business accounts to the account management team, liaise with volunteer branches and centres in the implementation of national partnerships, manage the administration and marketing of Payroll Giving and keep concise records of partnership projects on the central database.
What we’re looking for in our Corporate Partnerships Officer:
- Experience of working in a volunteering or charity environment
- Corporate fundraising experience or charity background
- Understand high value fundraising principles, practices and processes, using verbal and written communication to engage, influence and motivate donors to give

Purpose of the job:
This role is responsible for supporting the Director of Institutions, Foundations and Organisations to maximise income from foundations and organisations and institutions. The post-holder will develop a robust pipeline of funding through organisations based in the UK and internationally.
Skills and experiance required:
● Minimum five (5) years of professional experience successfully delivering high value, multi-year funding from the UK and internationally
● Extensive experience of donor prospecting and pipeline management
● A strong background in foundation, organisation and institutional bid writing, application processes, reporting and stewarding with successful 5 and 6 figure outcomes
● Demonstrable experience of personally securing 5 and 6 figure sum gifts
● Experience of complex bid development and working with delivery teams on programme design and grant management
● Excellent written and spoken English
● Sound strategic thinking and planning skills and the ability to think creatively, set priorities, and develop of work-plans

Major Gifts Manager, International Fundraising

The Customer Support Centre is multi-channelled, with a mixture of inbound, outbound and email traffic which receives calls and emails for our network of 21 rehoming centres in the UK. Normal hours in this role are 37.5 per week, our national Customer Support Centre is open from 8am-8pm Monday to Friday and 8.30am-5pm on weekends and bank holidays. The role is based in the Manchester Rehoming Centre with hybrid working. The successful candidate will be required to work two days a week at our Manchester office (M34 3SG) and three days remotely. Some UK travel may be required as and when needed.

Hours:
This is a part time position of 28 hours per week over 5 days (or some of these days) with the working pattern to be agreed with the successful candidate.
From 1st July 2024 we are piloting a four day working week across the whole of the UK organisation. This pilot is planned to run for 12 months, at which point a decision will be made by our Board of Trustees as to whether this will become permanent. Success of the trial relies on the organisation being able to achieve the same or improved level of impact in four working days as five, with staff experiencing either the same or improved levels of wellbeing.
During the four day week pilot, working hours for this position will be reduced proportionately to 22.5 hours per week, spanning Monday to Thursday (or some of these days), with no reduction in salary. This will be a temporary change to the contractual terms with the successful candidate. The appointed person must be prepared to increase their working hours to 28 hours per week if a return to a five-day working week is decided.

This role is responsible for identifying and developing long term, multi-faceted corporate partnerships for Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust (DWCT). This new position in the fundraising team is to generate sustainable income for DWCT’s vision of a wilder, healthier, more colourful world and provide an opportunity for DWCT to raise its brand profile in the UK and further afield.
