Responsibilities and Person Specification:
This role will form an integral part of our three person Policy and Public Affairs team based in Scotland, working as part of a UK-wide Policy and Influencing team. The role will drive forward our policy projects to reduce poverty in later life, conducting expert research and policy analysis and turning this into persuasive evidence to catch the attention of decision makers and persuaders. The postholder will create opportunities to amplify the voices of older people in poverty and work to secure support for our policy recommendations in Holyrood.
You will have strong research skills with experience of turning quantitative and qualitative data into high quality, persuasive policy outputs. You will have experience developing credible, evidence-based policy solutions, informed by the perspectives and insights of people with lived experience.
You will be a skilled verbal and written communicator with the ability to engage different audiences. You will build strategic relationships with a variety of stakeholders to advance the solutions needed to address poverty in later life, using your knowledge of the political landscape in Scotland and passion for our cause.

The Role
The Safeguarding Lead will bring their extensive knowledge and experience to this role to offer the highest level of support for LE staff and all of our client groups (including children, young people and adults). There would be a requirement to take lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the Organisation and take part in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings.
They will advise, train, and support all members of staff on risk, incident, safeguarding, and child protection matters, and liaise with relevant third-party agencies such as the local authority and police.
The role is subject to receiving satisfactory references and a probationary period.
Main areas of responsibility include:
- To act as a source of support, advice, and expertise in managing safeguarding and clinical issues for LE staff.
- To be fully equipped to independently manage clinical risk safely and in line with all LE policies and procedures, in consultation with the member of staff raising a safeguarding concern.
- Coordinate the safe check-in and check-out of all clinical staff scheduled to work during the shift.
- Oversee the management of any risk/safeguarding concerns ensuring that relevant paperwork is completed and signed off within adequate timeframes.

- Support staff during the referral, triage and assessment process

About You

As Project Support Officer you will support the Northern Area Manager and Regional Manager with volunteer recruitment, documentation of training (such as DBS, references, Food Safety Level 2, First Aid), giving our volunteers a fantastic experience, guest outreach and giving extra support to our Yorkshire & The Humber projects to aid development and growth within the region.

AFSG Coordinator Role Description
The Academic Forum for the Study of Gambling (AFSG) is seeking a Coordinator to support organisational sustainability, membership, and outreach activities. This is a one-year contract position with the possibility of extension. The salary available ranges between £30,000 and £40,000 depending on experience, qualifications, and time commitment. This is a part-time (between 2 and 4 days a week, to be agreed upon with the successful applicant), remote working position, and the applicant must be based somewhere in the United Kingdom.
The AFSG Coordinator will report to the AFSG Executive Committee and will work closely with Greo Evidence Insights (Greo), the organisation that provides administrative and logistical support to the AFSG. The Coordinator will work independently on the tasks outlined below and will be required to attend meetings of the AFSG to provide regular progress updates.
Responsibilities:
AFSG planning and sustainability.
The Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Developing and enacting a sustainability plan to establish the AFSG as an independent formal, registered charity, not-for-profit, or similar appropriate entity. This could include, but is not limited to the following activities:
- researching possible organisational structures including liaising with other academic societies/membership bodies to gain understanding of their operations, infrastructure, articles of incorporation and funding structures;
- proposing an organisational structure that would support AFSG sustainability goals;
- connecting with professionals and services necessary to implement a sustainability plan; and recruiting trustees (if applicable).
Network growth and promotion.
The Coordinator will be responsible for:
- promoting and raising the profile of the AFSG; developing and implementing a communications strategy to increase engagement with the AFSG;

- managing (i.e., formatting, maintaining distribution list, and disseminating) an AFSG newsletter or other equivalent communication project;

- assessing and proposing other appropriate knowledge translation opportunities and activities for the AFSG;
- supporting other AFSG activities, projects, and initiatives that may arise, as they relate to membership relations, communications, and outreach;

Mobilisation of funded research projects.
The Coordinator will be responsible for:
- organizing a webinar series featuring AFSG funded research presentations/webinars for AFSG members;
- supporting the organising committee of the Current Advances in Gambling Research conference series.
Qualifications
Essential qualifications.
The AFSG Coordinator must have:
- experience in one or more of the following sectors:
- mental health and wellbeing; academic research/support; professional societies or the charity sector; bid development and partnership engagement;
- excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to network and build meaningful relationships;
- experience managing social media and webinar platforms;
- experience using basic tools to build and manage websites;
- ability to recognise, navigate, and escalate sensitive issues to the AFSG Executive Committee and Greo as appropriate.
Desirable qualifications and experience.
It would be valuable for the AFSG Coordinator have one or both of the following assets:
- experience establishing a UK registered Charity
- knowledge of the field of gambling studies

Purpose of role:
To excel against targets in the provision of an effective supported Money Advice debt casework service that is compliant against quality standards including the MaPS quality of advice framework; ensuring that clients receive their full entitlement to all benefits, receive appropriate financial capability support and experience a positive customer experience from Citizens Advice Liverpool.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be confident, motivated and willing to try new things, have excellent communication skills with an ability to work under pressure to achieve targets and outcomes with minimum supervision.
To be appointed as a Money Advice Caseworker, you will need to have knowledge and experience of complex debt casework, covering priority and non-priority debt advice, options and insolvency solutions.

Since then, we have continued to grow as a frontline service, finding innovative solutions to the advice needs of our community through free, confidential and independent advice and information services.
Citizens Advice Liverpool is a charity, dependent on a workforce of paid staff and over 120 trained volunteers. We operate over four permanent sites (Belle Vale, Garston, Walton & Wavertree) and over 30 outreach locations in the city, which we are continually reviewing to ensure we are reaching the people most in need of our services. We have also developed a mobile phone app which acts as a single point of access for Citizens Advice in Liverpool, showing where to find advice in real time, access to self-help information, and telephone, WhatsApp, email & webchat advice.
We are a member of "National Citizens Advice", which provides the extensive information system we use to advise clients and sets standards for advice, training, equal opportunities and accessibility in our offices.
We receive funding from Liverpool City Council; which helps support our generalist advice service which gives advice on a wide range of subjects such as; benefits, work, debt & money, consumer, family, housing, law & courts, immigration and health. We also receive funding from other major contributors which helps run our specialist advice projects.
Location: Hybrid – Remote and Office based, flexible options available across Liverpool, St Helens and Warrington
Hours: 2 Roles available - 1 FTE - 35 Hours and 0.8 FTE - 30 Hours
About the Role
Citizens Advice Liverpool in partnership with Citizens Advice St Helens and Citizens Advice Warrington are delivering a Welfare Benefits, Debt and Budgeting Advisory Service to Torus Housing tenants.
The Welfare Benefits Caseworker is responsible for delivering a comprehensive Welfare Benefits Advisory Service to individuals and families in need. The caseworker will provide support and guidance to clients in understanding and accessing welfare benefits, ensuring they receive the appropriate financial assistance and support, including support with welfare benefits mandatory considerations, and appeals. The role requires a thorough understanding of welfare benefits regulations and policies, excellent communication and advocacy skills, and a strong commitment to improving the well-being of individuals and communities.

Would you like to join a service that makes a difference to older people in Wales? As a Regional Volunteer Officer living in North or Mid Wales you will help meet the Community Assistance Project objectives by recruiting, inducting, training and supporting suitable volunteers within the region to deliver support at a community level, working closely and in collaboration with local partners.
About you:
- You will be able to work with others to deliver successful projects and services
- You will have experience of recruiting, managing and working with volunteers
- You will have experience of establishing and maintaining productive collaborations.

If successful you will:
- Implement the volunteer recruitment plan for the region
- Process all volunteer applications in a timely and professional way, taking the prospective volunteers through the Community Assistance Project recruitment process
- Ensure all prospective volunteers are inducted with Age Cymru and Community Assistance Project partners across the region
- Ensure the delivery of all the relevant training required
- Provide a mentoring / buddying system for the new volunteers
- Ensure all volunteers have appropriate Disclosure and Barring Service checks prior to starting the role.
- Provide ongoing support to volunteers
- When referrals are received, match the service user with the most appropriate volunteer while ensuring a high quality, timely and responsive service is provided
- Identify and attend relevant networks, publicise the Community Assistance Project, establish community links with all appropriate stakeholders and promote the service through a range of methods
- Promote and cascade information, including real-life examples of positive intervention through all available methods
- Maintain accurate and up to date records in the region utilising our case management system and other databases, to provide for the effective monitoring and evaluation of the project
- Support programme evaluation through surveys and questionnaires
- Make onward referrals internally or externally to provide a holistic support package for service users

Charity Nest is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company that helps small charities work with big brands. The UK is experiencing a significant decline in the small charity sector, with more small charities closing each year than opening. This is concerning because 78% of small charities work on a local level, compared to only 5% of super-major charities. Charity Nest specialises in helping local charities work with big brands, ensuring the charities generate true social impact and the brands deliver on their CSR objectives.
As a Fundraiser, you will be based onsite at various venues and build relationships with the public to raise vital funds through bucket collections to support your assigned charity. You will be supported with full training and equipment for the role and be raising funds through cash and card donations whilst also raising awareness for your assigned charity. With venues across the North West, there are various locations where this role can be based including, Manchester, Preston, Liverpool, Leeds and others.
To be successful as a Fundraiser, you will have strong relationship building skills and be motivated to raise funds for meaningful causes. Ideally this person will have either some sales experience or fundraising experience. This could be from personal fundraisers such as gaining sponsorship for a challenge event, bake sales, or any other type of group or self-led fundraiser. This role will need to be available to work some Saturdays and there is daily travel of 30-90 minutes.
This role is a full-time permanent position that will be based in the North West region, dependent on your location. There is a base pay rate of £70 per day, as well as 35% commission on any funds you have raised each day.
