We are looking for an energetic and creative person to organise and deliver a calendar of engaging and inspiring energy and climate themed events and outreach activities across East Sussex. The events will cover the following themes: saving and sharing energy, insulation, solar and batteries, renewable heat, funding energy efficiency measures, creating healthy and mould-free homes etc.

Responsibilities

- Work in collaboration with the ESC team and stakeholders to design a programme of inspiring energy and climate themed events in Hastings, Rother, Eastbourne, and Wealden, reaching a total of 1000 residents across the year.

- Create engagement opportunities for your team at the events and activities of other organisations and local groups by networking and working with the Communications and Marketing person to promote our services.

- Find interesting speakers and organisations to participate in our events.

- Create public events for our No One Left Behind project, finding new, exciting ways to engage the public in conversation about energy and climate topics.

- Manage the administration and logistics of the events, including room bookings, ticket booking processes, etc.

- Look for opportunities to invite our funder along to events and participate in the activities.

- Manage relationships with staff team and volunteer Energy Champions on local events.

- Create event plans and risk assessments for each event.

- Work with the Marketing and Communications Officer and local volunteers to plan PR and promotion of events to agreed timelines.

- Create and work to agreed budgets.

- Ensure you are collecting the data needed to monitor and evaluate the project.

- Create inclusivity in the event registration and attendance experience to support people with a variety of needs.

- Ensure events feed into the wider work and services of Energise Sussex Coast.

- Provide event reports to manager detailing the number of attendees, write-up of the event, and feedback.

- Provide general assistance with ESC events and projects as required.

- Adhere to Energise Sussex Coast’s policies around safeguarding, data protection, etc.

- Attend monthly in-person team meetings in Hastings.

Key Details

• Hours: 30 hours a week, flexible working. Will include some evening and weekend work.
• Job location: Home based (or optional hot desk in Hastings) with regular events in Hastings, Rother, Eastbourne and Wealden. Please note, travel costs to the events will only be paid from a local East Sussex postcode, we would not be able to cover the cost of travelling to events from London or further afield.

Delphside Limited is entering an exciting phase of change, but is mindful of the challenges the mental health care and charity sector as a whole is facing.

The role is a temporary role (6-12 months) to help direct and support changes of financial systems, data control processes and to help ensure the current team, including our current Finance Manager, are supported with the implementation of a more up to date and effective way of working.

Ideally you will be a fully qualified accountant, but equally we would welcome applications from individuals who are qualified by experience or accredited qualification (e.g. AAT Level 4, ACCA/ACA qualified etc.) It is essential you have proven experience of delivering strategic leadership in finance, preferably (but not essentially) in the charitable sector and that you can deliver changes of processes and systems.

Knowledge of Sage and also XERO systems would be beneficial.

Main Responsibilities :

· Provide full review of current financial controls, identify and implement a new financial I.T./software system suited to service needs.

· Oversee the procurement, implementation and transition to the new financial I.T./software system once it is identified.

· The post holder will assist with the strategic planning and budget preparation for the organisation as well as maintaining the charity's financial accounting systems.

· To provide support to the Finance Manager by overseeing the preparation of the organisation’s accounts for audit in accordance with current accounting good practice and Charity Commission’s Standards of Recommended Practice (SORP)

· Lead, develop and support a small dedicated finance and administration team

· Long term financial planning and assisting the CEO with succession planning in the finance area of the service, including creation of a financial risk register.

· Assist in setting the annual budget and report on performance.

· Oversee timely production by the Finance manager of monthly management accounts and the annual statutory accounts.

· Ensure a robust financial control environment and ensure all treasury and Financial Governance management are in place, suitable and effective.

· The post holder will have responsibility to ensure the organisation is compliant with legal and financial duties associated with those of a Charitable Company reporting directly to the CEO and Board of Trustees.

· Provide proactive assessment of opportunities to deliver efficiencies in collaboration with department heads where necessary.

· Undertake internal audit of systems and processes in place to ensure good financial Governance.

This is a new role for the Circuit, replacing a volunteer. In designing the position, the Circuit has aimed for maximum flexibility to secure the best candidate for the role. Initially, the person will need physically to attend some meetings to familiarise themselves with the Circuit's operations and ensure a smooth hand-over. The Richmond & Hounslow Circuit comprises seven churches in southwest London. Job Purpose:

This is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of the Charity operations. This role is the first point of contact for supporters and requires outstanding customer care/ donor stewardship skills. Main Duties/Tasks

Fundraising & Office duties

Undertake day to day administrative tasks as directed by the Fundraising & People Team Leader and Senior Team, including the preparation of letters, reports and memos, ensuring the work is of a high standard, professional and accurate. Adhering to sensitive information protocols and keeping sensitive information confidential.

Deal with all incoming telephone enquiries in a professional and helpful capacity and direct all incoming calls correctly and take accurate messages. Adhere to any confidential or sensitive information protocols.

Contribute to the efficient running of the public Charity office by receiving all donors and visitors in a welcoming and friendly manner.

Provide excellent customer care/ donor stewardship in all interactions with donors.

Manage the mail, ensuring it is opened, distributed and any donor correspondence is responded to in a timely manner.

Process donations in line with established receipting procedures.

Adhere to audit procedures and liaise with the Charity’s auditors.

Carrying out filing in line with office procedures and ensuring the safe storage and archiving of documents/records on a regular basis.

Provide support to the senior management team, including organising and scheduling meetings and room bookings.

Undertake banking procedures and ensure donations are accurately recorded and banked.  

Hospital & Online Shop

Process online orders for the shop in a timely manner.

Produce analytical reports from the fundraising database system, for audit purposes.

HR support

Provide HR administrative support within the areas of:

· Recruitment, including coordinating the recruitment process and the induction of new starters;

· Ensuring all staff have a DBS in line with the Trust requirements;

· Administration of staff annual leave allowance and absence reporting;

· Creating staff correspondence letters, including pay award, furlough or other required communication; and

· Attending and minuting HR meetings where required.

Other Duties

Be an outstanding advocate for Alder Hey Children’s Charity in line with the core values of the organisation.

The charity is currently conducting a four-day working week trial, due to end on 30th September 2024. We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing and Communications professional to join our team and support both the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King and the wider archdiocese in developing engaging communications and marketing our events and initiatives. It is an exciting time for the Cathedral as our retail and hospitality outlets are redeveloped. Based within the Communications and IT Team within the Chief Operating Officer’s Department you will support the sharing of the good news of the archdiocese both internally and externally within our parishes, with clergy, schools, officers and stakeholders. As a team we are focussed on growing and developing our existing platforms including our websites and social media channels, as well as supporting the Archbishop, our parishes, clergy and other departments with communication and marketing needs. This role will also lead on supporting the archdiocese in telling the story of the Cathedral, past, present and future and helping build the vision of the new Visitor Centre. We are seeking an experienced professional who can help us translate our vision and engage with our communities and visitors to our city. The successful post-holder will work between St Margaret Clitherow Centre and the Cathedral (2 days per week), with travel across the Archdiocese as required. Applicants are encouraged to visit our Cathedral before applying. Opening times – daily 7.30am to 6pm. To thrive in this role you would need to be comfortable networking with a wide range of groups and individuals with differing levels of knowledge and experience. You will be a confident and skilled communicator who can develop creative plans to support our organisation.

We have a brand new homeworking role in our People and Culture team.  This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the role and make it your own.  You will be the  first point of contact in the team.  You will have experience of HR administration and continuously improving processes to ensure they are both efficient and effective.  An understanding of UK employment legislation is a must. You should have a demonstrable track record of successfully building and maintaining working relationships across an organisation. You should be adept in identifying pragmatic solutions considering the full circumstances of a situation.

We are a small yet busy team. The ability to work at pace whilst maintaining attention to detail is vital, as are good organisational and prioritisation skills
