About the role.

As Head of Fundraising and a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll work closely with the CEO to devise the organisation’s fundraising strategy as they enter a positive and ambitious new five-year plan.

There is a very well-established trust and foundation fundraising programme, which you’ll work to continue and expand, building on existing relationships and spotting opportunities to create new partnerships with relevant funders. Using creativity, you will secure multiyear unrestricted six-figure grants from an array of grantmakers as you continue the diversification of this income stream.

The charity is continuing the expansion of its fundraising strategy to incorporate new income streams, a project you’ll spearhead with the launch of digital fundraising. Arts Emergency, a mentoring charity and support network aiming to address the inequalities in the creative and cultural sectors, is looking for an experienced and motivated fundraiser to provide leadership and management for fundraising activities. 

Since 2013, Arts Emergency has been providing 16-25 year olds in London, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and beyond with a trained mentor working in their field of interest. Mentors help Young Talent set goals, explore their passions and make decisions about higher education, training and careers.  After they complete a year of mentoring, Young Talent can continue to access opportunities, advice, resources and paid work from the Arts Emergency Network until they turn 26. This position will be responsible for raising the necessary income to ensure Arts Emergency’s high-quality, person focused, asset-based services for young people are sustainably funded and can

The role: Fundraising Manager

We are seeking a Fundraising Manager with a passion for our mission, who will build positive relationships to secure significant income, working together to harness the power of adventure to create lasting change and transform communities for all.

This is a new role, leading our small but growing Fundraising Team, and having a real input into our plans and strategies for the future. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, the successful candidate will oversee all fundraising income generation activity and lead on our Major Donor Giving Programme. Legacy Fundraising Manager

The Role

As the Legacies Manager, you will assume a pivotal role within our dynamic Partnership and Development team. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the strategy and execution of our legacy programme, driving forward our mission to support vulnerable children, young people, and families across the UK. Drawing upon your strategic vision and extensive experience in fundraising, you will design and implement innovative legacy campaigns aimed at maximising income generation and expanding the reach of the organisation’s Family Hubs.

Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating closely with fundraising and partnership development experts to develop compelling legacy propositions and engage potential donors effectively. You will leverage your exceptional interpersonal skills to build and nurture relationships with legacy supporters, inspiring them to leave a lasting impact through their philanthropy. Additionally, you will utilise your expertise in data analysis to inform decision-making and refine campaign strategies, ensuring optimal outcomes and return on investment. Key responsibilities of the Legacies Manager include:

• Develop and implement a legacy strategy/plan aligned with the charity's goals to increase/improve outreach to and engagement with legacy supporters and raise legacy income around agreed goals.
• Provide excellent stewardship to all supporters who engage with legacies, working with stakeholders to ensure journeys are insight-led, respond to audience needs, and are well documented and reported upon.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of legacy giving initiatives and regularly report on progress to senior leadership and key stakeholders. Use data and analytics to inform decision-making and continuously improve strategies for maximising legacy support.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the end-to-end process for delivering the legacies plan is designed and documented. This includes solving problems in circumstances where there is minimal guidance available from established practices and precedents within the organisation.
• Work closely with the Head of Relationship Fundraising and other fundraising colleagues to ensure that all fundraising activities are well-coordinated and contribute towards the overall fundraising strategy.
• Identify growth opportunities that foster organisational projects which impact and improve the Legacy programme.
• Develop and execute marketing and promotional campaigns to raise awareness of legacy giving opportunities within the organisation. Utilise various communication channels, including digital platforms, events, and printed Job Description & Person Specification materials, to effectively promote the importance of legacy giving and its impact on the organisation's mission.

GMYN is looking for a new Grants & Trusts Fundraiser to join our team, and support our exciting youth charity to apply to a range of trusts/grant giving bodies to generate income.

Salary: NJC scales 23-28 (£32,076- £36,648*)

*pro rata for hours worked

The role:

As an integral part of the Fundraising and Development team, you will work closely with the rest of our team to secure financial income enabling GMYN to meet its income generation targets. The Grants and Trust Fundraiser will bring their own ideas to seek new grant providers and apply accordingly for delivery and core funding for the charity.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply to a range of trusts/grant giving bodies ensuring that applications are closely aligned to the objectives of the funder and that they meet GMYN’s aims and objectives.
• Ensure that GMYN is generating sustainable, unrestricted income/restricted income for programme delivery by securing multi-year grants in addition to one off gifts.
• Identify prospective trusts and other grant bodies whose aims and objectives are aligned with GMYN.
• Build and develop relationships with trusts with regular communication to deepen and nurture their support.
• Liaise closely with the fundraising team to ensure relevant case studies and marketing can be used to promote GMYN’s impact to stakeholders and funders.
• To take part in and contribute to strategy and planning meetings alongside other members of the business and fundraising team.
• Keep comprehensive records of all trust and grant fundraising activities and be able to report the impact to funders and stakeholders via various methods.
• Ensure the appropriate recognition of grants and gifts is made to ensure relationships are maintained.

Personal Specification:

You don't have to have worked in the voluntary youth sector previously. Our aim is to find a suitable candidate that can meet the selection criteria below. This can be from a past/current income generation/bid writer role, or a role with transferable skills.

More importantly we are looking for someone with genuine passion for working for a youth charity. Someone who can join our fundraising team and make a big impression, helping us to achieve our income generation goals.

We want to hire an enthusiastic person who can maintain positive working relationships with various supporters, delivery partners and all stakeholders.

Essential Criteria:

• Proven experience of bid writing or other similar income generation work with demonstrable transferable skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken with the ability to present confidently.
• Ability to self-manage, work independently to targets but also join up your work with the rest of the fundraising team.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and workstreams with a “can do” attitude in order to produce positive results.
• Experience and/or understanding of producing impact reports and reporting to various audiences, ideally funders.
• Motivation to work towards the charitable purpose of the organisation.
• Ability to effectively steward existing funder relationships to generate continuation funding.
• Competent in Microsoft office.

Desirable Criteria:

• Knowledge and understanding of fundraising methods and changing trends in the funding environment.
• Experience of researching trusts and grant funders to identify suitable income opportunities for both programme related and unrestricted core costs.
• Knowledge of the Voluntary and Community Sector and wider fundraising environment.
• Experience of using customer relationship management data bases.

We are one of the leading youth organisations in Blackburn, with a membership of over 5000 young people. We are open 7 days a week, 52 weeks of a year and offer over 40 different activities and opportunities in our open-access youth club.

Context of Role:

Our Head of Young People's Services is a critical, strategic and operational role within Blackburn and Darwen Youth Zone. As a supporting member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you will work closely with the Director of Operations, CEO and the Director of Finance to ensure the charity delivers its vision and strategic objectives. This includes strategies for sustaining and overseeing the ongoing transformation of Blackburn and Darwen Youth Zones' operational business plan and its operational processes and infrastructure. Your leadership skills will play a crucial role (in conjunction with the leadership team) in establishing a platform and environment for growth by creating a best-in-class, people-first, employee-of-choice that changes the prospect of local children and young people (aged 5 to 25 years). We are working with Pact, who are seeking an experienced Senior Manager (Major Gifts) with a proven track record of success to manage and grow their portfolio of major donors and legacies, to enable them to make a difference to the lives of those affected by criminal justice.

Pact is a successful national charity that provides life changing and lifesaving care for men, women and young people in custody, those with criminal convictions in the community and their children, family members and carers. 

In this newly created role, the Senior Manager (Major Gifts) will provide strong stewardship of existing relationships of mid value and major donors, support and cultivate interest in Pact’s programmes and unrestricted giving and take responsibility for identifying and developing new major gifts from individuals and family trusts. In addition, you will strengthen and develop the legacy strategy and offer to existing and new individual supporter. 

This is a senior, strategic role within Pact and you will have 

• A proven track record and specialism in either legacy or major donor giving, and the autonomy to raise funds from individuals, including HNWIs and to lead on this area within a charity.
• Experience of researching and cultivating individuals including HNWIs and family trusts to secure financial support.
• Strong interpersonal skills, talented at building relationships and trust, and able to inspire long term commitment.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey concepts and inspire a wide range of people through written & verbal channels, with the ability to build a case for support.
• Strong literacy, numeracy and budgeting skills and be capable of writing effective proposals, and reports.  Experience of using Salesforce is desirable but not essential.

Originally the Catholic Prisoners Aid Society, founded in 1898, Pact has a largely Catholic supporter base, with warm and committed relationships with a wide range of Catholic and other Christian stakeholders.  This is a key role for Pact, where you will work closely with other member of the fundraising and extended teams, collaborating with the Head of Faith in Action to cultivate and secure new support from Catholic people motivated by the work of Pact.

We would like to hear from you if you can demonstrate an awareness of and interest in, key issues facing prisoners, ex-prisoners and their children and families, and can work effectively within the Catholic community, including the hierarchy, clergy, religious orders, lay community and networks and organisations. 

There is not a requirement of the role that you are Catholic however an empathy with and understanding of Catholic social teaching and ability to relate to people inspired by their faith will be important to the role. 

This role is home based; though you will need to be able to commute into London when required. A basic DBS check is required for this role.
