Job description

Children and Young People’s Support Worker / Counsellor 

We are offering the opportunity for a qualified, dynamic and reflective Young People’s practitioner to join our team of counsellors, offering counselling support to young people (male and female) aged 10 and over, who is able to engage young people based on mutual collaboration, trust and empowerment. It is essential you have a strong commitment to challenging systems and structures to ensure the rights and needs of children and young people are protected and promoted. We are seeking a practitioner who is passionate about developing and delivering young persons’ centred services that are rooted within a trauma-informed framework, recognising multiple and overlapping needs.

We are seeking a female support worker/counsellor who will bring innovation and creativity to the service. You must be a member of a professional body such as BACP, UKCP, BAPT or equivalent and have professional training in providing counselling or therapy for young people (initial counselling training to diploma level). If this is who you are then we would really like to hear from you. Highly organised and motivated you will have a ‘can-do’ approach and demonstrable commitment to Northamptonshire Rape Crisis.

The ideal applicant must reside in the seven boroughs of Northamptonshire.
