Yes is a community interest company, launched to help north Manchester residents find local jobs and take advantage of great training and volunteering opportunities. We are a relatively young organisation, and our current CEO has spent the last seven years growing us from a small office location in Newton Heath to having three community-based enterprise hubs and supporting over 8000 clients to enter into the local job market.

We are looking for a new inspirational leader to replace our outgoing CEO. As CEO of Yes you will be the public face of the organisation and will set the strategic direction to ensure financial sustainability and safeguard our future whilst preserving and maintaining the strong integrity and identity of the Yes brand.

You must have substantial experience of working in a leadership role with evidence of an entrepreneurial mind-set and a positive ‘can-do’ attitude to work. You will have excellent people skills, able to develop and maintain relationships with key partners and senior level leaders across sectors.

We will need you to identify new funding opportunities; you will be expected to raise our profile and take ownership of our business, governance and risk management.

Ideally you will have insight and knowledge of the employability skills and economic regeneration programmes in Manchester. We require someone with experience and understanding of working in neighbourhoods where there is a high proportion of lower income households against a challenging political and economic backdrop.

Key strengths:

  • A strategic leader, used to working with a Voluntary Board, or equivalent;
  • Experience of running an organisation particularly through a period of change;
  • Delivered client led services that clearly demonstrate community empathy;
  • Proven experience of funding strategies;
  • Open transparent and effective communication skills;
  • An appreciation of collaboration and partnership working with other organisations;
  • Strong financial and business acumen;
  • Coach, manage, motivate and develop team members
