This is an exciting opportunity for you to make your mark with an established cultural organisation. The role is Norton Priory’s first fundraiser post, and is funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. It offers the next career step for an ambitious fundraiser with a desire to create a new fundraising strategy and make a huge different to our organisation. This post is offered on a fixed term contract basis, to end October 2020. Extension possible if income targets are met.
You will be responsible for developing and launching Norton Priory’s individual giving programmes, legacies and corporate sponsorship schemes. You will work with the Chief Executive and other colleagues to identify key fundraising opportunities that will enhance the work of the Trust. Your work will also involve building and maintaining close partnerships with external organisations to maximise fundraising opportunities, and to support the Trust’s vision to build a sustainable fundraising framework. This will enable the continued development of Norton Priory Museum & Gardens.
You will need to work flexibly, including working outside normal office hours as required to meet the needs of the role and of the Trust. This will include occasional weekend working and evening working.
You will be a strong communicator, with excellent negotiation skills, and a good listener. A motivated self-starter, you will thrive on targets and be driven to deliver against agreed objectives.
You will embrace the work of the Trust, and seek natural synergies with potential supporters and donors to ensure the building of symbiotic relationships with both corporate business and private individuals.
Norton Priory Museum and Gardens receives 50,000 visitors per year, playing an active part in the local community, and is an independent museum, which is managed by a charitable Trust (Norton Priory Museum Trust Limited). We are Europe’s largest excavated monastic site, and alongside the stunning museum building, which opened in 2016 following a major rebuilding programme funded by HLF, 42 acres of woodland and a Georgian Walled Garden complete the visitor offer.
