About Nova:

Nova has been deeply rooted in the community in North Kensington for 36 years - making a positive difference by successfully supporting people from marginalized or disadvantaged backgrounds to access education, pre-employment information, advice and guidance. Nova was the lead partner in bringing TEDx to Ladbroke Grove and is excited to be supporting 2020 too.

At Nova we combine our educational services with an information, advice and guidance service, a family programme, social change initiatives and volunteering. Nova is a place that’s open to all, and fosters community in a very natural way.

Nova helps over 1,000 committed and motivated people each year to recognise and achieve their potential.

Purpose of role:

Leading on the implementation of Nova's communications strategy - showcasing Novas impact, promoting its broad range of activity and raising awareness of Nova as a leader in facilitating positive social change.

Duties include:

  • Working with the wider Nova team to ensure a joined up approach to all communcations
  • Working with the design volunteers to develop promotional material – programmes, social media posts, website, blogs and newsletters

  • Working with the partnerships lead on how best to amplify impact and reach through partners

  • Leading ‘on the day’ event communications across social media platforms

  • Lead on communications across social media, website and newsletters

  • Ensuring mailing lists are organised, updated and maintained.

  • Other ad hoc duties as they arise

Demonstrable skills and experience of:

  • Developing/ implementting communications and social media strategies

  • Working in collaboration with designers to produce high quality collateral and online material

Notes:

Commitment: Circa 4 hours per week for 6 months minimum

  • You will have access to the services of a Nova employment adviser

  • You can volunteer your time remotely or based from our office

  • Travel or lunch expenses will be reimbursed up to a maximum of £3.50 per half day and £5 per whole day
