Our free IAG service provides people across the community with one-to-one confidential advice and guidance on a range of areas. We focus on employment and the work includes tacking issues that form barriers to progression into employment such as health and social care, housing, benefits, debt, grants, education and more. We meet people where they are at and provide practical and emotional support and encouragement so that people are able to move forward in their lives.
You will need to have experience of advice work and have a excellent understanding of complex systems, such as the benefits system. Our clients are often in very difficult and challenging circumstances. The role will require some advocacy through which you will support and enable clients’ understanding of their options, empower individuals to communicate their views in decision making processes, support them to make challenges when necessary and to ask pertinent questions on the person’s behalf where they are unable to do so for themselves supporting referral to specialist agencies where appropriate.
This role requires someone who is resilient, empathetic and organised.
We are currently home based due to COVID-19. However, in the future the role will be based at our offices in North Kensington, with the opportunity for continued homeworking for some of the working hours. This role is not suitable for permanent full-time remote working.
