Childline Glasgow is currently recruiting to several volunteer roles - email counsellor, night service counsellor, switchboarder, deaf childline volunteer counsellor and hearing volunteer shift support.
Volunteer counsellors support young people via online chats and on the telephone, email counsellors support young people via email and switchboard volunteers are the first people a child speaks to when they call Childline, calming and reassuring them before putting them through to a counsellor. No previous experience is required as we provide full training.
We hold Volunteering Information Meetings which allow you to come along to our office, meet some of our staff and volunteers and ask any questions you may have. The meetings are a fantastic opportunity for you to find out about our volunteering roles, from the application process through to what it is like to be a volunteer at Childline. The meetings are designed to help you decide whether you want to apply – there's no obligation or expectation that you'll apply if you attend one. We recommend that anyone who is thinking of applying comes to one at some point in the application process. The meetings normally last between an hour and an hour and a half approximately, depending how many questions are asked.
