Job description

Job title: Philanthropy Manager (Statutory)

Department: Major Giving

Contract: Permanent

Location: Shoreditch, London

The Major Giving Department at the NSPCC has an exciting opportunity for someone with fundraising experience to become part of a small, professional and motivated team generating significant income (five, six and seven-figures) from statutory funders at a local and national level. The newly-formed Statutory Team are responsible for increasing the number of successful grants awarded to the charity from government funders across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, with an annual income target of around £2.8 million.

As a Philanthropy Manager, you will work closely with the Senior Philanthropy Manager (Statutory) and Associate Head of Philanthropy to deliver excellent results. In order to succeed, you will effectively collaborate with a broad range colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure funders are fully informed and engaged in the work of the NSPCC.

With the ongoing support of your colleagues, this is an ideal opportunity for an experienced fundraiser to make a significant contribution to the fight for every childhood.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills (with both colleagues and funders)
  • Experience of working with institutional funders, successfully bidding for their support and providing ongoing stewardship
  • Proven success in delivering financial objectives through engaging funders, writing proposals and internal bid management
  • The ability to produce compelling written material of the highest quality
