Role Requirements
You will provide high quality, evidence based Psychological assessments and interventions to children and young people with acquired brain injuries and neurodisabilities.
Our service delivery aims to promote outcome focussed interventions, safe care for children and young people and psychological adjustment in the context of highly emotional circumstances. You will provide clinical leadership to Psychology trainees, ensuring accountability and effective communication with other teams, creating a cohesive and collaborative multidisciplinary therapy team.
With experience of working in a complex environment, across a large and diverse workforce, you will be exceptionally organised with a high-level of attention to detail. You will naturally possess excellent inter-personal skills, and an ability to consult and positively engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.

The Children’s Trust is the UK’s leading charity for children with acquired brain injury, providing expert rehabilitation, education, therapy, and care at our national specialist centre in Tadworth, and to children and their families across the UK, via our Brain Injury Community Service.

Senior Registered Nurse Development role – Community and In-Patient Unit rotation
20 Month Fixed Term Contract
37.5 hours per week (shift pattern over 7 days including night shifts on the IPU and weekends on an internal rotation basis)
Salary: £34,437 - £36,500 per annum, depending on experience (WTE based on 37.5 hours per week)
Phyllis Tuckwell is looking to appoint a Registered Nurse with experience in palliative and end of life care who wishes to further develop these skills. The role is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to be supported by the skilled and expert nursing and clinical teams within Phyllis Tuckwell. This fixed term post will consist of an initial 1-month induction on the IPU, followed by a further 2 placements of 9 months each on our In-Patient Unit and with our Hospice Care at Home team. The final month will be an opportunity to consolidate your learning.
The role involves holistic assessment and identification of patient needs, decision making and care planning alongside other MDT colleagues and community partners. It involves strong assessment skills, implementation of a management plan and evaluation to ensure that responsive high-quality, nursing care and support is available for patients, their families, and carers.
The role requires a range of skills and knowledge in palliative care nursing including symptom management, psychological skills, medication administration and management, organisational, leadership and people management skills. Patient, family and carer education, including for patients and professionals within care homes, is also an element of the role.
The successful candidate will have, or be willing to work towards, a qualification in palliative care, will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Their role will have clinical leadership and practice development responsibilities, and the successful applicant will work towards taking an active role in workload management and high-quality care, including patient safety and service improvement.
Phyllis Tuckwell offers a strong education, mentoring and training programme which will support the successful candidate’s leadership skills and their professional development in palliative care.

The Bexley SHiFT Practice is a collaboration between SHiFT Organisation ltd (a registered Charity) and Children’s Services at the London Borough of Bexley. SHiFT exists to break the destructive cycle of children caught up in, or at risk of, crime and associated behaviour. Following a successful pilot, we are expanding.
The SHiFT Practice works with children and young people up to the age of 25 for whom things are getting worse, not better. SHiFT offers children an intensive, 18-month, needs and strengths-led, therapeutic relationship. Investing time enables SHiFT to create trust, build stability and provide consistency. Working as highly skilled, multidisciplinary teams of professionals, SHiFT gets alongside young people who are among the most vulnerable and causing the most harm to themselves and others. We start from wherever a young person is, working systemically with them, their family, friends, and community (including all statutory professionals in their lives) to develop high trust, culturally competent and strengths-driven relationships that catalyse pro-social change.
We know that change is difficult. We also know that young people in conflict with the law have complex and overlapping education, health, and social care needs, and that offending behaviours can mask significant and underlying vulnerabilities. Recognising this, SHiFT uses Breaking Cycles and commits to doing whatever it takes to break destructive cycles of harm and trauma. Unconstrained by age, geographic or professional boundaries, SHiFT starts with aspiration and belief in the young people in our care.
For the position of guide, we are looking for a highly skilled practitioner, with significant experience of working with adolescents. Whether your background is in social care, education, health, youth justice or the voluntary sector you will have experience of delivering successful change through evidence-based approaches with children and young people who present with a range of complex needs. You will be able to work flexibly and independently with limited management oversight. You will need to have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and bring experience of working in a multi-disciplinary context.

As a charity and grant-maker, we do this by funding research and projects, as well as education and hardship, which support nurses, midwives and Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) to innovate, progress their careers and get through tough times.
As the Foundation’s Grants Officer you will work with the Benevolent Service Team to assess hardship grant applications and agreeing grants with the Benevolent Grant Manager deliver and to deliver a first-class benevolent grants and signposting service at the RCN Foundation. The service is bespoke to the nursing and midwifery profession, and this role is essential in making key decisions relating to our grant making activity to individuals in need.
In this varied role every day will be filled with possibilities. You will use the online application portal on the CMS to manage all grant applications. You will also provide support to individuals through the relevant and comprehensive signposting hub, which is kept up-to-date and is tailored to the needs of the nursing and midwifery professions
