It is important that this project is community-led. So, you will focus on building a movement of people who are passionate about a sustainable approach to growing, including food growing in our community. Your ability to observe what is there and what is needed, survey and make good analysis of findings is key. You are required to be a great team player, yet capable of working on your own, using your own initiative.

As well as applying your practical horticultural skills and know-how to support the development of innovative food growing spaces, you will be responsible for network building, movement making, influencing and public relations. As a result, you will play a key role in achieving an authentic community-led approach, whilst raising the profile of the project at a strategic and grass-roots level.

The project offers a unique opportunity to develop innovative food growing spaces in some of the most unusual and sometimes unassuming places in Islington. So, if you are eager to make a difference and can demonstrate that you are passionate about climate change, implementing innovative ways to gardening concrete and developing urban food system, this job is for you. It will be highly rewarding with tangible and intangible experiences that you will keep for life!
