Job description

Do you have strong financial skills, which you want to use to support One25 to offer quality services to support some of Bristol’s most marginalised women?  Are you able to produce high quality financial information to support budgeting, financial planning and adherence to SORP and our charitable requirements?   Can you support us to scope out new services to meet an ambitious business plan?

One25 is a highly respected, Bristol wide charity for women moving from crisis and trauma towards independence in the community.  Our team of committed staff take a person centred approach to offer a range of services: van outreach, drop in and casework services support for women involved in street sex work.  Our Pause programme supports women who have had children removed from their care and Peony supports women to take positive steps forward in their recovery from trauma.  We are looking to fill the new role of dedicated Finance Manager, to work alongside the management team supporting the organisation’s sustainability and financial reporting including gathering data to evidence the impact of our work. Do you have the skills, dedication and drive to join us?

You would need to:

  • Have strong financial skills, ideally at qualified accountancy level and the ability to work within charitable funding to support sound understanding and financial planning
  • Work alongside the Senior Management Team and Management Team to support budgeting, understanding of finances amongst non-financial managers and plan finances alongside an ambitious business plan
  • Report to the board quarterly, presenting financial information clearly, outlining risks and anticipating fundraising needs and challenges
  • Liaise with auditors, lead on our audit and develop all accounting practices in line with SORP and charity law
  • Have experience of managing Finance Staff and working alongside a range of teams
  • Think creatively, work well under pressure and analyse complex information
  • Share our values and commitment to supporting some of Bristol’s most vulnerable women through quality programme provision supporting them to make positive changes
  • Lead on the production of our impact statistics through data analysis, working alongside the SMT to produce these and financial reporting to funders
  • Learn quickly and support new ventures through prospective budgeting

This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious and award-winning charity in a senior role within One25. The post-holder will be qualified to accountant level and/or have experience in a similar role. They will have responsibility for supporting sustainability and growth and the performance of One25, in relation to demonstrating our impact.  The post holder will be managed by the CEO and will be strongly supported in their work.  The Finance Manager role is being restructured from the former role of Finance and Resources Manager, creating a dedicated finance role in line with One25’s growth over the last few years. The post will involve work on site and home working.  A handover with the current Finance and Resources Manager, is intrinsic to the induction of the role.

We particularly encourage applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates, as these groups are underrepresented in our workforce.
