About Open Age:
Open Age was established in 1993 and we’re now celebrating over 25 years of championing an active life for older people. Each week we run over 380 different activities for older people from our own three centres and over 60 other community venues. From boxing to ballet, baking to blogging - Open Age’s array of activities improve the physical and mental wellbeing of our members, and in doing so address the issue of loneliness and isolation among older people.
Open Age has historically earnt its income from providing services to local authorities and local health boards in a highly defined part of West London. But with growing demand – as a direct result of an aging population and because its services are so popular - Open Age now needs to seek funding from more diverse income streams and is recruiting two new part-time fundraising roles.
Community Engagement Fundraiser
This role will build relationships with the charity’s beneficiaries, their families and local community organisations with the aim of developing income streams from individual donors, individual fundraisers and community groups, to help the charity to maintain and grow its services. Another priority for this role will be to help Open Age give supporters a highly-valued experience. Fundraising experience is not essential. Although, candidates will be outstanding relationship-managers, with a track record and likely experience in either customer care; people-centred administration; community fundraising; or account management. A perfect role for candidates looking step-up in their early fundraising career. Equally viable, however, are candidates returning to work or those seeking a busy, relationship-packed part-time role. Candidates will be keen to join a lively team of similarly caring and committed people who enjoy working at a community-level and providing an outstanding, life-changing service.
The post-holder will:
- give donors and fundraisers outstanding care whilst supporting their fundraising efforts;
- motivate donors and fundraisers and engage with them warmly and efficiently;
- inform supporters regularly how their money is making a difference and changing lives;
- help to retain supporters via committed gifts or new and different fundraising techniques.
