Job Description

Open Doors is a Christian charity, part of Open Doors International, a global NGO network which works in over 60 countries to support and strengthen persecuted Christians. Last year the UK base raised approximately £12 million to provide practical support to persecuted Christians such as food, medicines, trauma care, legal assistance, safe houses and schools, as well as spiritual support through Christian literature, training and resources.

As part of our marketing communications strategy we are investing further into our website and digital platforms, and expanding our marketing campaigns. We’re looking to appoint a talented Christian* Senior Content Editor to play a key role in raising awareness of the increasing persecution faced by millions of Christians.

You’ll have a successful track record of copywriting in a professional marketing communications environment and will be skilled in writing creative and compelling copy for a wide range of digital and print platforms, working effectively to meet exacting deadlines.

You’ll have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and be competent in the use of Adobe Creative Suite. You will be committed to high standards and show exceptional attention to detail. You’ll manage a small team and develop each person’s skills and potential to grow your team. You’ll also work well within our culture of respect, positivity and team effort.

As Senior Content Editor, you will be part of a dynamic and diligent team that harnesses its professional skills and abilities to achieve great results for our organisation. You will see the rewards and impact of your work in increasing supporter engagement which changes the lives of people who suffer for their faith. There will be opportunities to visit the field and see the work that we do, and to pray with the wider team for our work as it unfolds.

* There is an occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 for this post to be held by an active, practising Christian who assents to our statement of faith.
