The Organisation - The Open University Students Association serves the interests of around 170,000 part-time and distance-learning students spread across the UK, continental Europe and beyond. The Job - As part of the Volunteering and Representation team, the Events and Projects Officer will lead the planning and delivery of a range of events and projects to promote Volunteering and Representation to students, staff and volunteers. This role will sit in a newly restructured team who work together to support a large team of volunteers, and support the student engagement and student voice activity the Association are involved in.
As a member of a new team and with an exciting remit, this role will be working closely with the Volunteer Training and Wellbeing officer, to create a varied calendar of regular events both to support volunteers and to highlight the great work they are doing to others, creating awareness and engagement with the work of the team. This role is perfect for someone looking for a varied and exciting role in an open and inclusive environment.
Please note that this job is milton keynes based however staff are currently home working until October 2020.
The Person - You will be educated to degree – level standard and have experience of project management, ideally with training or qualifications in this area, though relevant experience is just as important. You should be a self-motivated and hard-working team player with good organisational and communication skills. This role requires you to be flexible and adaptable with a positive approach and excellent interpersonal skills. The right candidate should be able to plan, prioritise and manage their own time and workload as this role offers the opportunity to work autonomously on your own ideas, with the support of a great team.
