We have an opportunity for an experienced Retail Online Hub Manager to join us in Midsomer Norton. Responsibilities of our Retail Online Hub Manager:
As Retail Online Hub Manager, you will lead, develop and manage the donated online hub operation in order to maximise our donated online income stream. As well as driving income, you will also manage expenditure to maximise the profit contribution from the online hub. You hold line management responsibility for the Online Sales Listers and be responsible for a group of volunteers who support our online operation.
What we’re looking for in our Retail Online Hub Manager:
- Experience of managing eBay or other comparable online operations
- Demonstrable learning and experience from functioning in a relevant ecommerce environment
- Previous experience of line managing a team and building a culture of achieving collective goals

About the role
We are looking for a pro-active forward-thinking individual to join our team and co-lead the Smart Works centre in Reading. The role requires excellent organisational skills, the ability to work across a breadth of projects simultaneously and strong leadership skills.
Reporting directly to the Chair of Trustees for Smart Works Reading, the Centre Manager will have responsibility for the operational and day to day management of the centre.
In practice, the role will support the delivery of the Smart Works service to unemployed women living in Berkshire by liaising with our referral partners and booking appointments, whilst also working with the Trustee Board to raise the money needed to fund the work of the charity through various income streams.
Given the breadth of the role, it is essential that the role holder is able to prioritise and delegate effectively.

Smart Works Reading is part of Smart Works Charity, and there will be some travel to London and liaison with the HQ team, as well as participation in regular meetings, phone calls and conferences with other Smart Works centres across the UK.
Duties and responsibilities
- Building excellent relationships with corporate and community partners, generating awareness and income of c. £165k for the centre across grants, events and corporate fundraising.

The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine (FPM) is a charity and membership body for doctors who work on all aspects of medicines research and development. Our small team work closely with the Board of Trustees and our 1,600 members to deliver on our mission and our strategic objectives, to improve the health of patients around the world.
Medical revalidation is the regulatory process through which doctors who are licensed to practise in the UK demonstrate on a regular basis that they remain up to date and fit to practise. FPM’s role in this important process is that of the ‘designated body’ for a named group of almost 700 FPM members.
The FPM revalidation team provides the administrative and governance resource which underpins ensuring compliance with the exacting legislation. With 80 appraisers, three Appraisal Leads and a Responsible Officer, none of whom are based in the office, the three members of the revalidation team have a large amount of often quite complex correspondence to manage and must ensure that there is a consistent message and approach across a wide range of topics.
An opportunity has arisen to join the revalidation team in the role of Revalidation Manager for a 12-month period of maternity leave. A key focus of the role is to manage the registration of newly connecting doctors, as well as overseeing the operation of the revalidation e-portfolio system. The role involves regular contact with both appraisers and appraisees who are doctors and FPM members.
We are looking for a bright, dynamic self-starter who is a team player, organised and can communicate well. The post holder will be fully trained, well supported and work closely with the Revalidation Co-ordinator, Head of Revalidation Operations, appraisal leads and the Responsible Officer in supporting 700 appraisees and 80 appraisers.

About Social Change Lab
Social Change Lab is a nonprofit conducting and disseminating social movement research to help solve the world’s most pressing problems. Historically, social movements conducting disruptive campaigns seem to have been crucial in driving significant political, social and economic change. Despite this, there has been little research systematically analysing the effectiveness of social movements and the strategies or tactics that most influence the success of these campaigns. Our research addresses this neglected knowledge gap and provides actionable advice to advocates and philanthropists working on a variety of important issues, with a focus on animal advocacy and climate change. We support activist groups in choosing effective campaigning strategies and tactics (e.g. via delivering training and workshops) as well as supporting funders with their philanthropic giving. About you
This role requires a diverse skill set, which would benefit from those who have some experience with social science research, leading teams or organisations (e.g. managing a team, fundraising, hiring, etc.) as well as familiarity with grassroots movements. Your role
As Temporary Shop Manager at Scope’s New Milton shop, you’ll have autonomy to run your shop using your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. Every day there will be a different challenge that you’ll find extremely rewarding. You will have relevant experience in retail but a great attitude and willingness to learn is just as important.
About you
As Temporary Shop Manager you’ll be passionate about retail and have a love of fashion with experience of running a shop, or you’ll be looking for a management role as the next step in your career. To be successful, you’ll need a commercial, can-do attitude and always put the customer’s needs first. You’ll be a dedicated team player with a strong work ethic, a great attention to detail, solid IT skills and a creative eye for displays. About working in our shops
Our shops are the face of our retail brand, run by a dedicated, creative and passionate bunch of superstars. Focusing on sustainable fashion, engaging with local communities and leading our volunteers to deliver a great colleague and customer experience, we raise much needed funds to deliver Everyday Equality for disabled people and their families.

It’s important for you to know that Scope Charity Shops are open every day, so some weekend and Bank Holiday cover is needed. We work 35 hours a week, working five days out of seven.

Operations Assistant, South Georgia Museum
South Georgia Heritage Trust operates the South Georgia Museum on behalf of the Government of South Georgia. The museum is located in the abandoned whaling station of Grytviken, on the remote sub-Antarctic island of South Georgia. The museum is visited each austral summer by over 12,000 visitors that arrive on cruise ships, research vessels and yachts.
SGHT is seeking a practical and enthusiastic Operations Assistant to join the small team which will spend 5 to 6 months (October – April) on South Georgia. The Operations Assistant will be involved in opening the museum, operating the SGHT shop and undertaking fundraising and other projects. The Operations Assistant will report to the SGHT Director SG.
Payment is £1200 per month worked, and all food and accommodation is provided. For tax purposes the Operations Assistant is self-employed, and it is each person’s responsibility to report their activity to the appropriate tax authority. Travel to and from South Georgia is arranged by, and covered by, South Georgia Heritage Trust. Working hours are flexible and are dictated by the cruise ship schedule. This can sometimes mean working long, unsociable hours but, where possible, the team will take two days off per week. Successful candidates will live in shared accommodation in a small cottage next door to the museum and take part in a cooking and cleaning rota with other museum staff.
Candidates must be over the age of 18, have the right to work in the UK and be UK based. They must also pass a British Antarctic Survey Medical Unit medical if offered the role. Due to the remote location, and limited facilities available, employment is conditional on passing this medical assessment.
Duties of this role include:
Front of House:
· Opening and closing the museum for visiting ships.
· Welcoming visitors to the museum and responding to questions about the museum, South Georgia and SGHT.
· Assisting with guided tours of Grytviken Whaling Station.
Retail:
· Serving customers in the shop during ship visits.
· Stock management, including barcoding new stock, re-stocking during and after ship visits, and assisting with stock inventories.
· Assisting with merchandising of shop stock, including refreshing displays throughout the season.
Fundraising:
· Delivering fundraising presentations on board visiting cruise ships.
· Processing donations and associated paperwork.
· Engaging with guests about the work of SGHT and encouraging them to support the charity.
Maintenance:
· Undertaking waste management, including sorting and packing of waste.
· Completing basic maintenance tasks, such as sanding and painting, around the museum.
· Cleaning the museum and toilets between ship visits.
· Taking part in the annual deep clean of the museum and church.
Other:
· Supporting the SGHT Director SG with office administration as required.
· Taking part in a cooking and cleaning rota within shared museum accommodation.
Experience:
· Operating in a busy retail environment, including using EPOS systems and completing inventories. (Essential)
